Will the R-rated comedy The Hangover be a hit when it opens on June 5? It’s starting to look that way. Besides the fact that the film’s sequel has already been greenlit, early peeks at the latest movie from director Todd Philips (Old School) are hilarious — like its red-band trailer (embedded below), which premiered today. Now, I’ve seen the movie already, but one thing in the today’s clip surprised me: It gives up one of the best reveals of the movie, Mike Tyson. Yes, this trailer is riotously funny and the faux drama conveyed through Phil Collins’ In the Air Tonight is genius. But rather than hear Tyson sing now, don’t you think the laughs would have been bigger if Tyson’s warbling came as a surprise as the movie unspooled? I guess they just couldn’t keep what was supposed to be a secret quiet any longer. Take a look and let us know what you think. And, either way, are you psyched for the film?

Really? That trailer is riotously funny? I didn’t get that at all. It looks like it’s a drama. If that’s supposed to be a comedy – they’re selling it all wrong. That was in no way funny or even slightly amusing. It just looks like a BAD movie.
I like the other trailer more, y’know the one where the baby gets hit by the car door. Good to see Galifiankis in a movie too!
I don’t really know if that looks like a bad film or a good film, but it certainly didn’t look, sound or feel like a funny one.
I mean…”riotously funny”??
How exactly?
This looks awesome. Love everyone in this film.
What is wrong with you guy, this actually looks to be one of the funniest movies coming out this summer. This trailer is seriously funny….honestly did one person just not get the joke and write three responses???
there wasn’t anything funny about that at all. Fail
This looks like the ultimate buddy R-rated comedy after a couple shots and some speed. Crazy lady with baby? Check. Randomly placed comeback kid star? Check. Guy that looks eerily like bearded Joaquin Phoenix? Check. I’m not sure if this movie is good or bad, but I’m on board just for the sheer pleasure of watching Ed Helms rock something out.
Oh no, y’all. It does look funny. They are clearly spoofing on heavy dramas. And any time that Ed Helms makes an appearance you know the funny is imminent.
I think the other trailer is funnier, but yes, I’ll probably go see this.
I’m thinking the writer just spoiled the “reveal” with her post…
Do a search for the official trailer of this movie (not the red band one that you just watched) and you will see why most of us thinks it looks great.
Forget Star Trek, Angels and Demons and the new summer blockbusters. Quality movie making got its chance when the independent film touted as one of the best movies of the Spring, the romantic thriller, Say it in Russian, began its limited nationwide release May 4th at Carmike Cinemas in 65 cities nationwide. The award winning film premiered in Pittsburgh, where it was awarded a special proclamation by the City Council of Pittsburgh, who declared May 3, 2009 “Say it in Russian Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. City Councilman William Perduto presented the award to the film’s executive producer and to the lead actress, Agata Gotova. Also in attendance for the special premiere were members of the Pittsburgh Police Department and Captain Sheldon Epstein of the Pennsylvania State Police. The company has dedicated 100% of its Pittsburgh proceeds from the film’s run to the Pittsburgh Fallen Hero Fund.
