It’s so exciting to watch Anoop being interviewed!!! He carries himself so darn well!!! You guys did a HUGE mistake by voting him off American Idol… All you record companies out there, hurry up and give him a recording contract!!! You guys NEED someone with a voice and personality like his in the entertainment industry…

I can’t believe how people argue over something that is based purely on opinion. Is Adam talented? yes. original? yes. But does that mean I prefer his music? no. I don’t care about his lifestyle or his looks or any of that. I just don’t like his melodramatic, over-the-top style. And if you do, then great! Vote for him now and buy his album later. But please don’t try to stereotype me, my voting record, or my values, just because I don’t care for his music. I’ll vote for whomever I want to vote for…in Idol and in politics.

Babara Griffin: Please don’t think I was critizing YOU with my comments. There are far too many people (like nrayjd) who are intimidated by Adam being upfront about his sexuality. He, along with all the other finalists, including Anoop, are incredible singers. Let’s all remember to vote for the candidate of your choice and never assume that he/she is safe!

What is the big deal with Adam choosing a side. He didn’t want to, but Ryan insisted. Honestly, he should have sat in the middle of the stage and said neither, because he actually belongs in a league of his own. He has the best vocal range, originality and stage presence by far. The other contestants go to him for advice. But Danny Gokey didn’t want to admit it on stage in front of millions of viewers. This year has been the Adam Lambert show from the very beginning. Everyone else is just trying to get their 15 minutes of fame. Everybody knows who is going to sell platinum album after platinum album. Vote for Adam!!!

Slezak, just wanted to thank you for this fantastic and lengthy interview with Anoop! Of course, since his elimination, his interviews have been with Lil, so his talking time has been minimal. I don’t feel he has really been able to fully showcase himself either on AI or in interviews, but you certainly changed that. I’ve been a fan of his since auditions, the Clef Hanger YouTube videos made me a super fan (if you haven’t seen those, go watch them! AMAZING!), and interviews like this solidify why I’m not only a fan of his music, but of HIM has a person…and why I always will be.
So thank you, thank you, thank you again for giving him some time to shine…not only for those who are already fans, but also for those who may become fans because of seeing this!
Anoop will forever be MY American Idol!

Hey Slezak..I was watching your Anoop Idolatry again and it struck me why this interview has stuck out. Both of you are intelligent men who have a deeper understanding of this show and just life in general. I was truly watching an intellectual conversation between both of you. I have seen the other interviews but the candor and mutual respect both of you had was nice to see. This interview is the talk on all the Anoop message boards of how brilliantly it was done. You really should invite Anoop to come back and help you more often. Actually if you could help him get a record deal and publicize him that would be better. We need more articulate,well-mannered, and self aware individuals in this industry who can serve as positive role models.

Michael Slezak thank you for the interview with Anoop. It broke my heart when he left, but now I’m so glad that people are now seeing the true side of Anoop Desai.
