International pop culture sensation/punching bag Twilight is getting its own convention this summer: TwiCon will invade the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (a well-known vampire hangout) from July 30-Aug. 2. The unofficial conference will feature live Twilight-inspired band performances, a Volturi Ball, panels, workshops, and — of course — a "Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will be set up for yourshopping pleasure."
I find this hilarious because ComicCon is all about the over-the-top costumes, whereas I just perused EW.com’s recent ‘Twilight’: How Edward and Bella Got Their Look gallery and the flashiest piece I’ve seen so far is probably Bella’s cream thermal. Thirteen-year-old office visitor Kaitlyn Collett, who I just bribed with candy in exchange for any information about Twilight, has helpfully pointed out that there are tons of versions of Bella’s wolf/heart charm bracelet on Etsy.com.

The first ever anual Twi-con convention , where once a year twilight buffs take their lips off a loaded g_n and spend half a day adjusting their eyes to sunlight . Can’t wait ! Yippee !!
Geez what is the problem with you people! So there are people who like Twilight, they want to go someplace to meet other fans and possibly some of the celebrities involved with their fandom. Why all the insults? If you don’t like Twilight than don’t read the articles on it It’s easy, I do it on this website all the time!
So not going. I was over with this stupid ‘saga’ after the last sh*tty book came out and made me realize I was insane for ever liking a book about sparklepires. Count my in for the Harry Potter convention, Infinitus, next July in Orlando (and the HP them park to boot) though! Now THAT’S something to get excited about!

Gosh, there are sure some haters out there. Personally, I would NEVER spend a minute of my time posting about something I don’t like. I would also NEVER spend my time posting insults to people who do like it. Don’t you people have something better to do then to bash Twilight and their fans? Or do you just crave more negativity in your lives?
I loved the books, I liked the movie, but I think this is a bit much. To each his own I guess.

I’m going! As a 36 y.o. Mom of two, I am looking forward to Twicon as a way to escape day to day life and hang out with others like me….. There are a lot of “mommies” going! We’re perfectly normal people who happen to enjoy the books.
