'Pushing Daisies': Do you still wish ABC would wake it from the dead?

Dude. Where were you in November? (Or whenever it was cancelled…I try to block the memory…) PD fans were going NUTS with the letters and the phone calls and the pies. Apparently ABC noticed…and was very annoyed…but nothing came of it. Just goes to show how idiot those execs are, probably putting on another crappy lawyer/doctor/cop or reality show. Just great.
Much as I love FINALLY hearing about PD on EW, other than Ausiello with supposedly “good” news (like Fuller going to that extraordinarily mediocre show), this is such old news. Too little, too late.
Maybe if EW covered the last three episodes airing at the end of May, drumming up some interest, MAYBE there could be a movie at some point. NOBODY that’s seen PD is ready to let the show go, even though it seems we’ve already lost.

There was already a campaign to save it last fall. It involved pies, bees, letters, cards – all sorts of stuff. It didn’t work.
So many Pushing Daisies fans logged on to the ABC insider website to watch that episode that the server crashed. You’d think that would send the message that there are a lot of passionate PD fans around.
Also – if you didn’t catch it online or at PaleyFest, the final three episodes will be broadcast on Saturday nights, starting May 30. Set your tivos!

“Pushing Daisies” suffered a similar fate as “Men in Trees” and “Eli Stone,” two other great, quirky, wholly original ABC series that were canceled too fast. Yes, “According to Jim” has survived to an eighth (!) season. “Wife Swap” and “Supernanny” keep getting renewed. ABC is brilliant at spotting fantastic premises for series, but horrible at promotion and maintenance. “Boston Legal” still brought in about 10 million viewers per episode, yet the network still thought five seasons was more than enough. Whatever.

I agree with Traci. It’s a CRIME to keep a show about brainless obese men (according to jim) and cancel pushing daisies. Who even watched according to jim?

    I am up for anything!

Don’t give me any hope of this happening. It was the cancellation of Pushing Daisies that made me decide to give up television. I grew tired of the shows I love being prematurely killed off by their networks.
Plus, I’m guessing Fuller has a contract with Heroes now, so I can’t see how it would be possible to bring back Pushing Daisies. I think the most we can hope for is a movie, which I’m sure would be great.

another network should go ahead and pick it up…like USA or eve SciFi

If ABC thought PD only had a few loyal fans out there before, they most definitly don’t anymore!
Over the weekend ABC’s Inner Circle aired the first of the remaining Pushing Daisies episodes for it’s “Members Day”. The episode was supposed to start at 7:00 but did not end up airing until well after 8 because so many people logged on to watch the episode, it ultimately crashed ABC;s server!
Way to go PD fans! What a way to show them how much we love our show and want it back!!

By the way, other than airing these last 3 episodes, ABC has no obligation to Pusing Daisies whatsoever. If you want anything else at this point, such as a movie or a network change, your best bet is to contact (mass emails, pies, honey for the homeless, daisy seeds, etc)Warner Bros. since they are the ones who actually own the show, not ABC.

I’ve loved this show, but I’ve also let it go. It should be on cable. Some foul languauge would make it smell so much sweeter.

There are/were only a couple of shows that I watch live instead of recording for a later viewing. ‘Pushing Daisies’ was one of them. It broke my heart to hear it was not coming back.

There’s nothing we can do, unfortunately. It’s too late. All the players have moved on. Bryan Fuller is at “Heroes” now and has expressed interest in reviving the “Star Trek” franchise for the small screen. And if the new movie is as successful as it’s buzzed to be, he might get his chance.
My advice: Mourn “Daisies” and move on by buying the DVD sets and having a beautiful collection of episodes of a great series that ended at the top of its game.

I just saw the first of the last three eps online the other day and it was SO GOOD. I’d almost started to forget how much I miss this show and the characters, and then it all came flooding back. I would follow it to any network, any time.

I loved both Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone. I am still bummed out over their cancellation and would love to see them on another network.
