Funny. The one that did do a disco number (Lil) was told she came off as a copy-cat. So the others put their own twist and style on it and that’s no good because it wasn’t disco enough? Make up your minds, people. And don’t take it so seriously. Those of them that have real talent are going to end up with record contracts after the show’s over anyhoo.
Aww love Anoop’s parents too, they seem like such nice people. And Simon was way off, Anoop sounded great tonight (except for that last note). I personally think that since Simon mentioned in an interview last week that Anoop would probably leave this week, he wanted to make sure that he wasnt wrong. Thats the only explanation, unless he just plain hates the guy.
Allison wasnt my fave tonight, so Simon saying she was brilliant was surprising. The judges are so WE-WANT-ALLISON-NOW-AND-NOT-LIL-ANYMORE right now.
Adam and Kris the best hands down.
i think lil is the best singer that they have on the show. simon do not like her for some odd reason. he problem threaten the other judges jobs if they said something about how good she is on the show. she is the best singer on this season show.
if you hate your job so much then just quit and spare everyone your cynical remarks. i think you’re a complete a*hole.
Good!
This review is horrible; i ll make sure i wont have to read another of yours. You rambled on about stuff that quite frankly, bored me to tears. What an injustice you did to Adam Lambert. And I am a guy, and not gay.
It’s sometimes hard to figure out if Simon is listening to the same performances we are. That said, Anoop wasn’t all that bad, in fact, until the very last note, it was pretty good. I do think Adam is the most talented and least boring of all the contestants this year and expect that he will win. Even if he doesn’t, a record contract is in his future. I really like that idea about an album of Adam singing Jim Steinman. That would rock! And I’d definitely buy it.

After last night’s performances, I believe it will come down to Kris and Adam. I think tonight, the bottom three will be Allison, Anoop and Matt, but I think Allison and Matt will be going. The public likes Anoop too much to let him go. But I can tell beneath that smile, he is seething at times, but he brilliantly maintains his composure. I feel badly for Lil because no matter what she does, she gets a bad rap. I like her and her singing. Kris and Adam show creativity and flexibility while maintaining their individuality. Every song Danny and Allison sings sounds like it’s the same song, because their scruffy voices overpower the intended melodies; not so much a fan of either.
Fire this writer along with Michael S. They are horrible. I’m sure with the job hunting nowadays, it is easy to find their replacement
I love your recaps Whitney. Isabella, what Whitney means by Adam being as predictable as Law and Order is this: He has consistently alternated his ballad boy and rock god alter-egos each week. His outfits, or should I say costumes, capture the tone of his song choice as well so without his performance even beginning you know; based off last weeks performance, and what he’s chosen to wear this week, what type of song he will sing. That isn’t to say I don’t think Adam is incredibly talented. I do, I also think he is very smart. He will probably win and deservedly so. However, before the show even started I told my friends he would be singing whatever song he chose like a ballad and would be wearing something similar to what he wore for “Mad World” or “Tracks of my Tears”. That is what she meant by predictable.
Love the recaps, and keep the snark up! This show is best enjoyed tongue in cheek. If I wanted a gushing review of everyone, I’d go to the AI boards.
Anoop looked like a terrorist. It was spooky. No more facial hair. Same to George-Michael-Bearded-Danny-Gokey who looked like he had pink eye or some other ocular condition that made him all squinty… Stop knocking Whitney, folks, it’s a dry sense of humor that not everyone gets. I frequently hear the sound of crickets after my best oneliners…
Some of these Idol fans are psychotic. Leave Whitney alone, her sense of humor is not obviously for people who spent their waking moments obsessed over some karaoke show.
Love the recaps, but honestly, this show was boring. And did they do the whole Donna Summer catalog? Is there a Donna song they missed singing? And Adam was boring to me….totally overrated. He’s professional in that he knows how to “perform” and dress and play to the camera. But that rendition of one of my fave songs was totally blah.
But the judges have picked their winner. Too bad, because women of IDOL always rule the recording charts. Besides Daughtry, Idol has yet to make a male “star”.
