Tale of Two Cities made me cry in 8th grade homeroom class. It was awkward. The room was completely silent and there I was, sobbing like a baby. The teacher just asked what I was reading and when she saw the cover, she gave me a box tissues.
The Abandoned by Paul Gallico, when Jenny goes…
The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay, Diar’s battle…
ANY of the “impression” scenes in any of the Anne McCaffrey Dragon books.
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
I Am the Messenger by Marcus Zusak
Harry Potter 6 and 7
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
Octavian Nothing vol. 1 by M.T. Anderson
Warriors Don’t Cry by Melba Patillo Beals
And probably more, lol.
To all the interested readers:
Mark Helprin’s “Freddy and Fredericka” will make you laugh and cry. I mean, I buried my face in my arms and bawled. It’s not sad, though – it’s BEAUUUUUUUTIFUL. about two royals getting banished from royalty and left to find themselves… so much creativity…
Also “Proud Breed” by Celeste de Blasis – an EPIC story about a romance in early mission California. The Spanish beauty with the violet eyes and her Gavin… EPIC wrenching romance.
Seabiscuit. I cried when I read it and then cried again when telling someone why I had cried the first time.
I totally bawled like a baby when I read Deathly Hallows. I read it again later and I still cried.
Yup, that’ll do it. You have my appecriation.
The two best “cry” books i’ve ever read were ” a god shaped hole” and “how to kill a rock star” both by tiffanie debartolo. Both earned tears so big I couldn’t read thru them…
