Hear that? That was every comedy geek in America soiling him or herself: The State is finally — "for real, no kidding" — coming to DVD. This release has been in the works for years, and I have fallen for the "no, really!" line before, so I won’t 100 percent believe my DVD prayers have been answered until the set is in my grubby little hands. But every possible indicator says all systems go:
The group’s official site has the announcement, and according to MTV’s statement, the set will include every episode, unaired sketches, commentaries, angels who french braid your hair, cast interviews, etc, good things, more of them, etc etc. Joy!

Here’s hoping the DVDs (1) actually come out as scheduled and (2) include the original soundtracks (i.e. great ’90s alternarock) and not the weird instrumental jams that showed up on the Skits and Stickers VHS…but I’ll take what I can get with my $240 worth of puddin’. Awwwww yeah.

My friend works for a DVD testing company and he told me that they are in fact testing the DVD’s right now so yes they will be released. They had to change the music I believe.

I’m disappointed to hear that they had to change the music. I would have liked to have seen the CBS special included as well, but I understand why it’s not. Still, it’s THE STATE! ON DVD! AWESOME! I’m ready to GET MY ASS IN SOME PUDDING!
