Attention, Idol fans: Idolatry is pleased to announce that Simon Cowell is officially under our control. Not only did the Brit with a chip sign up for Team Allison, he also interrupted the results show to undo Randy Jackson’s pitiful “critique” and salute Kris Allen’s standout performance of one of the best songs ever written. We take it all back, Simon. For us for you, you worked it out–keep on keeping it real, Dawg. Kris deserves a few more props, though, and he gets them courtesy of Michael Slezak and Missy Schwartz in the video below. Press play and you’ll also find alternative career advice for Lil and a discussion of the “historic” save. Did Matt really deserve it? Will someone better get sent packing on Disco Week? If Allison’s one of them, will I finally break the Internet? Speaking of our amazing Wonder Girl, she and Adam only make cameos in the below episode. But fear not: Our eventual top two get more screen time in the next installment, posting Monday (I promise this time, y’all!). So check it out, let us know what you thought about Kris and Lil this week, and share any trepidation you have about the dreaded disco. Oh, and for the love of humanity, save the rocker.

I’m a huge Adam fan, but I swear to God, if he sings “Heart of Glass” with his screamy-falsetto, I might just cry.
Did you interview Scott?
I am looking forward to his exit interview with you.

As a UK viewer, I only recently discovered Idolatry – love it! Who says Americans don’t do sarcasm and irony!! Michael and Kristen are a bitter joy to behold. Have watched all videos from this year and last, have got 2007 to work through. Brilliant. And Adam should do Mighty Real by Sylvester this week, judging in pairs a definite no no, Paula – please just SHUT UP and Randy, please, for the love of God, buy yourself a dictionary and extent your limited 4 word vocabulary!!
Three cheers for Kris, indeed! He gave an amazing and heartfelt performance. Thank you, Simon!
They shouldn’t have wasted the save on Matt. He’s already been saved once with the Wild Card already! If Kris leaves next week because of this, I’ll be furious.
Support Anoop, support talent.
Vote Anoop, vote talent.
You guys are hilarious and the constant “Shut up Lil” images was so hilarious!
Ugh, Randy. He needs to go. Finally they figured out that Lil just wasn’t good (from the get go I couldn’t understand what they saw in her), but it’s hilarious how they jumped on the Allison train after what was by far her worst performance. Looking forward to Monday’s Idolatry…you should do one entirely focused on Adam. That guy is amazing. I like him better when he does the slower songs, but he’s just so great and different and FUN. Hope he wins the whole thing.
Thank God! I couldn’t have gone another minute without a new idolatry. I can’t believe we have to sit through the inevitable going home of Anoop – yawn, Danny – yuck, Lil – Couldn’t sing a Round to save her life. Kris was fantastic, Missy is right – Adam just makes me happy – I want to skip now, too. Allison is everything I wanted to be at 16. Save the rocker!!!!! Thanks for idolatry!
I really like Anoop’s voice too, but you gotta admit that the guy is also developing a stank attitude with all of his moping around. Sure, it sucks to be in the bottom three all the time, but get a zen attitude about it, dude–America might like you better for it. I’m not suggesting that he should “Caw!” his way over to the seats, but he should at the very least not continue to be a sulky mope-face once he’s told to go back to the couch because he’s safe.
I have been wondering WHY the judges have been sparingly with praise over Kris Allen’s great progress on the show? While they heap praise on everyone else like Danny, Kris has been getting hardly any for some of the best performances this season. That is correct some of the best performances this season.
Kris is not even a professional like some of the other singers – contestants who the judges heap praise on week after week. Yet they have extensive experience in theater and stage, while Kris hasn’t.
Kris has shown that he can play BOTH the guitar and the keyboard. Sang songs that showed emotion, yet Kris seldom gets the props he deserves for a job well done. Kris is like the Cinderella step-child on the show. I am glad that critics like EW are watching and are realizing this.
For the first time, I am really scared for Kris. Ricky Minor hinted that Disco night was a last minute decision due to a mentor’s schedule issues and all contestants should go by Bandizilla disco rthym as if it’s a mandatory. Kris is so far from Disco and he doesn’t have enough time and liberty to re-arrange a song. I enjoyed the vid but wish you had talked more about Kris because he is seriously in trouble. All the more he is likely perform second or third . So worried.
Hey MS, we know you love Kris.
Sorry I don’t think Kris was brilliant. I do think he was better than Lil and Matt and even Anoop but he was pitchy and out of it for part of the song. Randy wasn’t that wrong with his assessment. But I don’t think he was in that much danger so who cares. Now I worry about Alison next week. Maybe a shocker that the show was trying to prevent will happen and either Adam or Danny will go!
I believe Kris’s song choice showed that he would take a risk and not choose a CHEESY song everyone has heard forever. Which most of the other contestants did. Kris introduced a song many people hadn’t heard before and made it popular. The song “Falling Slowly” by the original singers was # 18 on itunes yesterday. Kris resurrected the song and gave it life after it had fallen off the charts. Now millions knows that song “Falling Slowly”. Kris showed that he is a true artist and musician.
wow, Allison had a crappy week, and still the whole video was pimped towards her!..you are as bad as the Idol producers!…you talked about Kris but not enough! He was the only good thing about Movie Night, and his “Ain’t No Sunshine” was the best performance of the season..everyone talks about how original Adam’s “Mad World” performance was!…damn it was Gary Jules Version from “Donnie Darko” released in 2001 not 1985! anyway “Save the Side Mouth Singer!!”
