Following in the esteemed footsteps of Flavor Flav, Danny Bonaduce, and Brooke Hogan, former American Idol winner Fantasia will be getting her own VH1 reality series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. And, frankly, I cannot wait. As I write this blog, a signed poster from Fantasia, given to me by my wonderful colleague Nicholas Fonseca (check out Nicholas’ fantastic 2006 profile of Fantasia), hangs behind me. Now, I’ll admit her career has been erratic to say the least, but I absolutely loved her last album, especially the single "Hood Boy." And I root for her to make a comeback. Underdogs always make for great television so, VH1, you can count me in. As long as you don’t pair her with Brooke Hogan.

Wow. A Fantasia post and Slezak’s nowhere in sight! I never thought I’d see the day. Actually, I never thought anyone else had this level of love for Fantasia. No, I won’t be watching Fantasia’s show, no, I don’t love “Hood Boy”, and frankly, I’m always surprised to hear people speak about her with such love and appreciation. I’m really not crapping on you, I honestly and truly don’t get it. Her voice makes me want to jam something sharp into my ears,and her look is laughable. Although, she looks halfway normal in the pic you’ve posted here. I just don’t get it!!

Ugh, another reality show on a station that is an acronym for Video Hits One, no videos though. I just got back from Europe and they still play videos on their version of VH1. Maybe it’s time for VH1 and MTV to change their names.

Fanny is so talented!! If reality television can help Keyshia Cole then it will definently do wonders for Fantasia who can outsing half the chicks on the radio if given the right songs.

She never went anywhere, she was on broadway and shes been doing shows all over so a comeback I think not… Hood Boy was like not one of her best but if u listened to her last album Fantasia then u should know that there were a lot more songs that were worthy… Fantasia’s reality show is not that shes fallin as an artist it just she need her name out there a little more because her current producers are not promoting her in the correct way..

What I love about this is that again, Fantasia does the unexpected she’s not afraid to do something different and be the first to “test the waters”. no idol contestant has ever had their own movie and their very own reality show show so it’s not like it’s some sort of a failure , it is a milestone.
I think a reality show is a great thing for a signed recording artist as that is extra promotion that she never got from her record company. It did wonders for Keyshia Cole and Jessica Simpson and I think it’d do even more for Fantasia becuse she has more talent then both if them combined.
I’ll be watching. She’s one of my favorite singers. She is a great performer with two successful albums and a 3rd on the way later this year.
She’ll be performing at the Kennedy Center in July.
I can’t believe half the people on here! Anyway! I have loved this girl since AI Season 3. And I have followed her career and millions would jump at the chance at her career! Please….failing…..I think Not! People who know show business know she ain’t no where near failing! This girl is a gem and rightfully so, VH-1 should be thanking God because she will give them better ratings! Just you watch! Lol! Fantasia on VH1, I just hope VH1 like all the rest give Fantasia her time, advertisement and marketing time like they do all the blonde haired and blue eyed girls and boys on TV. If you condition ones mind to watch the same old thing, one will do so. And if you put our shows out there we will watch them but when you take all the black shows off and put nothing but what you want everyone to watch well my ratings will go up too…

Pick up any of her albums and you’ll she that not only has she made it, she’s here to stay. She is a brilliant vocalist. She is respected by legends in the business, she might not have her recognition YET but respect is far more important.

Her idiotic Lifetime movie biopic was smug, sanctimonious, hypocritical, phony martyr-ism that just underscores the need to reject this reject. She’s a selfish, self-absorbed, negligent mother who would have had kids better off if their mommy had serving tables for a living than just barely scrapping by fulfilling her empty life and ambitions. But I wish her well. I wish her kids even MORE luck! It looks like they’ll need it.
Why anyone would want to watch this show to see Fantasia in all her ghetto fabulous glory, is beyond me. But then again, don’t forget she got to pay back whoever loaned her money to save her house from foreclosure, so there you go.
I loved Fantasia on Idol & voted for her, but since then, she has gone to the dogs. She shouldn’t be let out in public dressed the way she does or those ugly hair styles. If the song she sang on Idol when she was a guest singer is any example of her CD’s, I’m surprised she’s still around & NO I won’t be watching her show.

If any of you know anything about Fantasia, you would know that she has been ill and needed surgery on her vocal chords. To the poster who talked about her having children, she has one daughter and a dog. I guess you would appreciate her more if she was skank like Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan And the like.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is pointless to argue back and forth about it because not everyone will be a fan of Fantasia. I, however, am an avid Fantasia fan who will faithfully watch her reality show.
