Here in the US one would believe from watching television reality/competition shows that Hollywood producers believe that talent can only be found in the young and attractive. THANK YOU Susan Boyle for showing them that one should never judge a book by its cover. And thank you to “Britain’s Got Talent” for giving this incredible lady a chance. Best wishes in your new career!

I saw this on tv last night and got straight on utube to play it over and over again. I get tears everytime. I have sent it to everyone on my email lists for them to see. This woman is amazing and so down to earth. I hope she wins, she deserves it. Congratulations from Australia

I don’t watch American Idol because I find it to be shallow and insipid, but I’m glad to see that the British version is not. I love that they had a non-spectacular-looking 47 year old (what is the American age cut off? 27?) who was able to showcase her powerful voice. If I lived in Britain, this might actually get me to watch and to even vote for a contestant. (Something I’ve sworn never to do.) Good for her, and I hope she realizes her dream in some way or another.

Someone linked to this video from Facebook… I can’t stop watching. Even now that I know the incredible voice that’s coming, I end up smiling through tears every time she starts to sing. Amazing, astounding, incredible … I can’t find the right words to express how moving her performance is. We have been so conditioned by media, and modern life, to have expectations of people based solely on appearance…I am ashamed that I saw this humble-looking lady, and I expected an average performance. I enjoyed her bubbly up-beat attitude, and her contagious smile… but when she opened her mouth to sing it was like an angel from heaven had graced us on earth. I’m so sorry that I had low expectations because I didn’t think she was pretty…may God forgive me, and may Susan continue to bless the world with her incredible talent.
    Way to go!

Simon clearly was holding on for dear life to his face — to prevent his jaw from dropping to the floor. And you could see the dollar (or pound) signs in his eyes. Well, get on with it, mate! Get her into a recording studio posthaste so I can buy a copy of her CD myself! Tears and cheers!
