Leave Lindsay Alone!

Lindsaylohan_lHow freakin’ dare anyone out there make fun of Lindsay — after all she’s been through?! (Yes, I’m talking to you, Stevie Nicks and Tyson Beckford.) She’s had problems with drugs, a public break-up, trouble nabbing (*sniff*) any role outside cheesy Jem-like Fornarina commercial spots. And all you celebrities seem to want to do is insult her left and right. She’s a human! Leave her alone! [Sobbing] Sure, Stevie, Lindsay playing you in a biopic is a bit like Gary Busey portraying Paul McCartney on the big screen. But you’re lucky someone young and beautiful is willing to appreciate your musical genius! Rather than scoff at her through reporters (*sniff*), why not deny the young actress with a "Thanks, but no thanks" professionalism? Why is it okay to publicly bash someone who’s going through a hard time? LEAVE LINDSAY ALONE! Right now! Puh-leeeeease… [Sobbing]  I mean it! Anyone who has a problem with her, you deal with me. She’s not well right now.

(Okay, Chris Crocker impressions aside, in all seriousness, Stevie Nicks, (ahem, EW) et. al., why must we kick Lindsay while she’s down?

I agree with Stevie, no way does Lindsay EVER play Stevie Nicks in a movie.

  • Sara

Yeah, I’m with you. Lindsay’s made some bad decisions, for sure – like substance abuse, lack of professionalism on the set, really bad movies – but I think the constant nastiness isn’t helping. I get it, their celebs, we’re supposed to mock people who are wealthy for no good reason, but WTF? She’s not one of those celebs who goes around being a jerk to people, or being obnoxiously self-absorbed, so the constant meanness is just another symptom of our society’s tendency to knock female celebrities. Oh she’s just a dirty skank who deserves what she gets! Please.

  • chattypatra

Because lots of people are jerks. Everytime I catch her old performances in movies like that Parent Trap remake and Mean Girls, I feel bad.
Lindsay is talented – no matter what her addictions and emotional problems are – and it pains me to see her go down a path of destruction, no thanks to the wonderfully responsible examples set by her parents. I honestly hope she can make a comeback, and I wish her well. Who can say that they don’t have any sins?
    I agree. Leave her alone!

  • peaches

I agree with Stevie. Lindsay is wrong, wrong wrong for the role. Personally, Stevie might just have an issue with the name Lindsay though. ;)
But I also agree it’s time to leave LaLohan alone. Lindsay needs to work. Comedies all suited her best and she seems to stay out trouble when she’s busy (Georgia Rule, notwithstanding).

Look, I agree that no one should kick her when she’s down, but Lindsay also needs to not do interviews with US Weekly days after her break-up with Samantha. She needs to get away from this all and not give a reason for people to talk about her.

  • ossie

Why kick her why she’s down? She put herself in this situation and she won’t take responsibility for it. It’s everyone else’s fault, her parents, the media, Bigfoot, etc. She really needs to dissapear for a year, get cleaned up and make a comeback. This country loves comebacks.

  • beelkay

I guess I understand your point, Kate, but doesn’t she deserve our derision and disgust? How can someone with so many advantages live the life Lindsay has led? The same goes for other young celebrities who screw it up, like Lief Garrett and Britney Spears. It may not be all their fault, but they’re not blameless, either.

  • Dana

She is a loser; she drives under the influence, does drugs regularly, and sucks at her job. Her job is to be a good actress and that she has failed at. I have no respect for anyone who has grown up with privilege and chooses to do nothing good with their life. I grew up poor and have had to work incredibly hard for everything I have since I was a teenager, including supporting myself since I was a teen. I have a bachelors degree and a master’s degree, I am educated and a contributing member of society. What does she contribute other then bad movies, and supporting our country’s drug dealers? Not to mention all the lives she puts at risk every time she chooses to get high or drunk and then get behind the wheel? Why should anyone feel sorry for or respect this girl?

The most righteous article that i have read within these three months about LL situation. Kati, thanks a lot!!!! you have my respect! It is inhuman to beat someone who is already has been dragged down to the bottom. Who is so insecure, broken and alone. What they are doing is a rule in animal world but not for human’s.
Great!!! I really appreciate your courage and out-of-box thinking!!!!

As long as she has auto accidents and refuses to take the blame for them; as long as she does drugs and claims that she was caught with drugs on her because she borrowed someone else’s pants; as long as there’s a chance that Constant Complaining about her lifestyle can get her into rehab and get her off drugs and prevent a premature death, or a permanent disability; I will not leave Lindsay alone.
Shape up Linday Lohan or wind up like Anna Nicole: 6 Feet Under.

  • lala

Until you walk in her shoes you cannot assume you know what is happening or not happening in her life.We all take the tabloids as the gospel truth and we all know it is not.I think we get caught up in the drama of it all and forget that celebrities are real human beings with feelings. As far as making up excuses…this is the generation of “it’s not my fault”.So, who’s really surprised here if a celebrity says things to try to get off or at least receive a lighter sentence. As far as Stevie is concerned, be happy that someone wants to make a movie about your life.I’m not saying that I don’t want to see it, I do.But remember we ALL have done things that we look back on and wish that we hadn’t and Stevie, I’m sure you are one of them. And besides, LL is really a fine actress.I can think of at least 5 actresses that receive roles all the time that I’m not sure they deserve.

  • GeeMoney

Yes, we must kick her. She’s a drunken hag. Perhaps if we kick her, she’ll get off the drugs and straighten up. And perhaps then she’ll date a man again!

  • Stephanie

I’m no fan of hers anymore but I feel sorry for her and people should leave her alone until she gets her life back on track.

  • JS

The problem with Lindsay is that she takes absolutely no responsibility for her own actions. It’s always some other person’s fault, and her parents really f*cked it up early on by teaching her this.

  • c

And joining Lindsay Lohan in the loser corner is Kate ward! Lindsay’s problems are of her own making and her recovery will be of her own making – no one can do it for her!

  • Matthew

THANK YOU KATE WARD! I couldn’t have said it better. People need to lay off. And where to skags like Nocole Richie get off saying UCK to LL? Really Nicole? You’re SO ESTEEMED with having made a national skank out of yourself on Simple Life…and didnt Stevie Nicks go thru her own turbulent drug years? I think so. Glass Houses much?

  • bruno

listen, the girl got herself into this mess. for someone who spent the better part of 2 years TRYING desperately to get the papparazzi to follow her everywhere she went while making up fake engagements and riding the coat tails of fake friends, ms lohan has had this coming. her attemopts to manufacture herself into something of interest and worth have been pitiful and i’m personally more than happy it’s all coming back to bite her in the ass. why kick her when she’s down? we’re trying to make sure she doesn’t get back up again….

  • Sara

    Reply to Bruno-
I think you’re missing the point. It’s not about whether she got herself into all the trouble’s she’s had. I think it would be hard to argue that the accountability lies with anyone else.
The point is, why do we have to take someone’s troubles and make it into a public spectacle? You and I can have a bad day, a bad year, or tick of everyone around us for a decade, and nobody across the nation will know or care. She binges on ice cream once and everyone starts gossiping.
I don’t think that knowing about someone gives us the right to abandon common decency. If my neighbor or coworker is having problems, I don’t rip into them every chance I get- or even behind their backs. That is when I do my best to assist, be a positive influence, or at the very least, stay out of the way.

  • lala

Let’s see…what was and who was Stevie doing when she was that young?A little bit of everything and everyone, right? Or are all those stories made up?Hmmm…I wonder…

  • Serena

why is everyone always on her case? stevie nicks was doing just about every drug at her age and she has the nerve to critique lohan? come on. lindsay is young and has time to get it together. i have faith in her just like i had faith in drew barrymore.

  • Mia Mermanopolis

I hope Lindsay Lohan makes a successful comeback. I really really do. Please Lindsay, get it together and get back to work.

  • Tim

I hope she goes away for a long, long time. She’s a mediocre talent, at best, overrated at worst. Life will go on without her. But as long as her Stage Mom keeps pushing her into the spotlight and calling the paparazzi to announce she’ll be there, we’ll be forced to deal with this idiot.

  • fj

If Britney can come back, so can Lindsay.

  • Annette

Lilo is completely psycho and brought this on herself. Comparing Lindsey to Stevie – who is an actual talent – is an insult.

  • qpause

i have no sympathy for Lohan she it brought it on to herself nobody put a gun to her head to snort Coke and drink she is (was) talented but now she should go away from the business we already have enough talentless performers around i mean you Paris and Kim Kardasian

  • Preston

Seriously, they do need to back off on Lindsay Lohan with the insults. And Stevie Nicks should have shown a little class by saying Thanks but no thanks to Lindsay playing her in a biopic. Lindsay has said that Stevie is one of her musical influences in interviews and she would be good for the part. Ms. Lohan’s going through a difficult time and some celebrities just need to cool down for a second until she rebounds soon.

  • LG of VA

Look at this poor girl’s parents! And the mother is supporting her other daughter trying to make it in this business. The parents did not teach values to their children. I feel sorry for the Lohan children; however, at some point, as they grow into adulthood, they need to take responsibility and take charge of their lives. Mom should have lost custody of her children long ago. Isn’t there a child protectice service in Los Angeles?

  • jezoebel

We’ll leave LL along as soon as she goes away and take her psycho parents with her.

  • Carlos Balbás-Espín

Kate Ward asks: “why must we kick Lindsay while she’s down?”.
    Uhm, ’cause it’s fun? Duh!
