Last night, Comedy Central premiered its new fantasy comedy series, Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire, but despite an aggressive ad campaign, I Read the full post.

It was terrible…come on. Not because it was offensive-it wasn’t. Maybe it would have been funny if they actually pushed some buttons, but they didn’t. It felt like a bunch of fratboys mid circle-jerk paused for a moment and said: “Hey, know what would be funny? A tv show about a Xena dude who has a small dick but a hot girlfriend! …Yeah, and a band of weird mages n stuff…and one could be like Dave Chappelle in a turban, and one could be like a giant ogre who can’t shoot straight, oh and there could be a really hot chick who screws a lot of guys!!!” …See: frat boy fantasy AND frat boy comedy. Well done Comedy Central. We get the joke. Now cancel the show, it sucks.

I actually really liked how the female character’s sexuality was both completely over-the-top and seen as a sign of her worldliness. She definitely was a match for Krod in the fight scenes, too. That made the jokes about Krod’s cloddiness actually funny, since she really was just in a very different place from him.
Reminded me of a couple of my early girlfriends before I got more experienced. Except man that actress is hot as well as funny.

I like Sean Maguire, I like the villain…and if I only watched shows that had decent, complex, interesting female characters, my television would basically be limited to Damages and a handful of movies.
I like television too much. :\

This show was so bad, if it even goes an entire season I will not only be surprised, but horribly pissed off. For those of you that enjoyed this trash, then just go rent the newest national lampoons movie, because it’s the same run of the mill uninspired humor made for semi-retarded people.

I laughed so hard I almost cried. I watched it twice. I made my friends watch it. half a dozen mid-30s guys in a range of professions and educational levels, killing a case of beer and falling over ourselves laughing. If you never played D&D, you’ll miss 90% of the jokes. It was the reality of a bunch of players trying to be “Epic” with entry-level characters. The range fighter who can’t hit anything. The Thief pretending to be a mage. the burning of the boat, followed by the Game Master saying “none of you actually SAID they wre putting the body on the boat” Horst Draper – an on-the-spot NPC made for color, and immediately named after what makes the 1-dimensional insta-NPC memorable. The walled-over tunnel no-one knew about being the GM’s way of giving the players a way out after being dumb enough to cut the wrong rope. “The EYE of GULLLGAAARIMMM!!”
If you are not a fantasy or an RPG geek, you really probably wont get or like the show. But as geek, I love it.

Awesome! I thought it was hilarious. I cant believe it’s not doing well.

I think the reviewer needs to keep personal bias out of the review. It looks like the review is clouded by the dislike of the female character and her pagan ways. Its a comedy and a spoof. Get over it.

This show has a lot of potential but it needs to be an hour long. It seems like they are going with the SCRUBS concept and the 30 min no “canned laugh” comedy sitcom deal is great but shows like SCRUBS & Malcolm In the Middle are about how people deal with each other and their own problems. Krod Mandoon has a mission in each show and it goes and skips too fast through it.
The show is funny but it turns into a blur. Stretch the missions out to an hour and you’ll find that the show will work better.
Still you got to tip your hat to the creation of a Zena/Hercules type comedy setting.

I LOVE this show. It keeps me laughing every other minute. Sometimes every other 10 second. I guess you just have to love comedy for comedy. The villian is great!!! And Krod and his fellow loons are wonderful. I hope the series runs for a long time.

Why is this reviewer so offended by Aneka? Give me a break! It’s a great comedy for chrissakes and a wonderful spoof – get over it reviewer lady! I find Aneka to be hot and charismatic and free spirited and independent. All the characters are very well cast. Should I as a guy be offended because Krod is kind of pussywhipped? Hey it’s a comedy – and a brilliant one. Don’t let some harpie reviewer take down a show out of political feminist correctness. People like her dumb down comedies so they end up being generic garbage like Friends. I went to this ET website today for the first time to find out the status of the show because I do really miss it, and the CC web site leaves things kind of open in terms of show status. So CC must be waiting for our feedback – so here it is! By the way, the deliciously evil but bumbling and king and his assistant are particularly hilarious. There are so many innovative plot twists and memorable characters – it really has great future potential.
