The best comic series right now is definitely "Secret Six" written by Gail Simone, art by Nicola Scott and Doug Hazlewood. The best action, story, characters and dialogue. I would equal that with Geoff Johns on "Legion of 3 Worlds". Hopefully LO3W will spawn a return of the original Legion of Super-Heroes, and "Secret Six" will be going for a long time. I haven't read anything this good in comics in quite some time!

Not reading Flash, but I've been disappointed with Secret Warriors so far. We're three issues in and I still have no idea why I should care about any of the new characters, the depiction of Fury himself is very one-note (and he's only got one facial expression), and considering that it has the "Dark Reign" masthead, no one seems at all concerned about what Norman Osborn and HAMMER are up to.
Hickman has said he wants to be remembered as one of the great Nick Fury writers, up there with Steranko. But so far, Secret Warriors lacks what made Steranko's run so memorable: real suspense and intrigue, mind-blowing action scenes, a little humor and pathos, and of course, revolutionary art.
It does not bode well for a book that was sold as "Nick Fury's new team" that I'm only sticking around because it looks like he's getting the old team back together.

Secret Warriors has been a very solid read so far. The issues that have come out have been in the top quality books each week they've been released.
Flash: Rebirth has a decent start to what could turn into a great series. It's not too impressive yet, though.
Superhero books that have proven that they're a solid read every issue:
Captain America
Daredevil
Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Invincible Iron Msn
Kick-Ass
New Avengers
Secret Six
Thor
Ultimate Spider-Man
The Umbrella Academy: Dallas
Wolverine
X-Factor.

Did I read the same issue of the flash that you did? The one I read had Barry Allen walking around remembering a past that was different from what it was in the comics in the 80s, and coming off like a bad Steve Rogers wannabe.
Since when did Barry Allen have a black and white right/wrong view?
And what is so wonderful about the writing, when most of it was just nostalgic bullcrap?
I was disappointed with the Flash Rebirth (obviously). I won't be picking up the next issue.
Meanwhile, secret warriors has been decent.

While Flash: Rebirth was an ok first issue, after one issue I'm not ready to say it's one of the best books out there. Now Green Lantern and Secret Six on the other hand make it to the top of my stack every time!

Decent article, agree with most of it. Secret Warriors has been a stellar read so far, Jonathan Hickman is such a talent. If you haven't read The Nightly New yet, please do yourself a favor and do so. Even though SW is only 3 issues in, I don't have a problem with calling it the best written uperhero book on the shelves right now. Even though Flash Rebirth was a solid read (although I wouldn't call the writing anything all that special), I'd have to say that Brubaker's Captain America is much higher up right now on the best written superhero comics list. Same for Bru's Daredevil, and Fraction's Invincible Iron Man. And Geoff Johns' best work has been his two Action arcs with Gary Frank.

I have to agree with other folks, right now the best written comic with the best dialog is Secret Six from DC by Gail Simone. While it is more anti-hero than hero it is fresh, funny and imaginative.
