The Jonas Brothers’ Disney Channel series has, at long last, its premiere date: Come May 2, tweenybopers across the land can get their recommended daily allowance of wholesome pop stars in an easy-to-digest, Hannah Montana-esque form. JONAS, the brothers’ "musical comedy" series, will also be available on-demand starting April 25.
Hmm. Even though their tour has been amazingly popular, The JoBro movie basically tanked, bringing in under $20 million, and I’m starting to wonder if maybe we wouldn’t mind seeing the guys grow up a little, maybe do stuff on their own — branch out? Particularly out of the sometimes treacly Disney mode? You want to be on TV, Jonas Brothers? We can figure something out.
Let’s get Kevin a guest spot on Greek. He wouldn’t even have to sully his oh-so-pure image! He could play, say, Dale’s buddy from a campus Christian group. Joe, though, is definitely due for a little bad-boy fun, and I think a Gossip Girl stint is just the thing. He can be a love interest for Serena — she loves the artistic guys, or so she constantly says — and he and Chuck can have a surly-eyebrow-scowlytimes contest. And Nick? Baby Nick? Nick is how we’re finally going to get more people to start watching Friday Night Lights. I don’t care if he can throw a football or not — Coach Taylor can teach anyone!
Whaddya think, PopWatchers? Can the Jonas Brothers conquer television? Or are they just a boyband?

I’m not sure about the exact plot of the series, but they show will be fine. As someone who’s been subjected to the Disney Channel (thanks nieces), I’m guessing it will be better than “Cory In The House”, but maybe not as good as “Hannah Montana”. Besides, its not like Disney Channel is knocking out 26-episode seasons to run back-to-back. It may just be 15 episodes scattered over the next 12 months.
These boys can do anything they put their minds to and they will have an insane following regardless. Even if it is just the Disney channel….I’ll be there to watch

The roles you suggested are good! Kevin being one of Dale’s friends = perfect! Maybe Kevin and Dale could hit on some girls with comical results. Joe on Gossip Girl? I don’t see it really, especially since I don’t watch GG. I’d like to see him on 30 Rock- possibly as a Page who could rival Kenneth, [like Donnie!] but only visiting from Conneticut. Nick, I see him as a more serious actor. maybe a rebel on the new NBC show Southland? Or on CSI, or like you said, Friday Night Lights, but I kindof want him to play atypical, not a football player. If Freaks and Geeks were still on, Nick should have kicked it with Sam Weir and Bill Haverchuck.
I think the Jonas Brothers are going to do a great job on their TV show & every other show they will be on. They may not be great actors at first but they’ll get into it & I know that I will enjoy whatever they do. I love those boys & what they stand for-NO ONE should change that! I think their show is going to be one of the more sucessful shows on Disney Channel. I’m rooting for them & so are the rest of their fans.=)

I think JB is great where they are now! They have so much, i wouldn’t go taking any chances if i were them.
Give it a few years. I looove JB with all my heart, but once Nick hits 20; they’re not gonna beable to work for Disney any longer. They’ll have a GREAT career then, but for now, be happy with where they’re at!

Not to sure how I feel about Joe on GG though, not that he wouldn’t be awesome, and they could totally write him in as like some unattainable pure boy thing for Serena or Jenny or something i dunno (i’m just hatin’ on GG right now. Dunno why, just am I wanna SMACK them all!) Nick on FNL would be interesting, they could so do like a triangle with him, Matt and Julie. She would so be into a musician type like he could pull off and who says they have to get together? He could be new and Julie gets roped into showing him around, and they become friends and Matt gets jealous with no actual reason(the story practically writes itself lol) Who says he has to actually PLAY football? Anyways, I LOVE IT! and I so agree they need to like branch off from Disney a bit. I mean, they can only play brothers in a band for sooo long before it gets old. Variety is the spice of life after all;)
The show isnt quite as disney, its kinda like a modern say Monkees, but I would definitly love to see Kev do guest appearances (I think he would be a great actor) and play maybe a murderer on Law and Order, a suspect or dead person on CSI, a college student on Greek, and maybe a few other appearances! I dont think Joe is the best actor, and Nick is good as long as the character is alot like him. Kev is definitly the actor of the group!
