I am glad that Danny seems to be a front-runner. He is an executive chef at a restaurant here in Florida, and a local celebrity.
I too found the crab faces upsetting and I”m not a vegetarian. On the BBC show the promos talked about Chef Ramsey serving the pigs that he and his children raised as pets. ICK!
The shocking announcement is that Borgata’s owners burned the hotel to the ground to avoid getting one of the remaining losers as their executive chef. I’m sorry, but everyone who is left is crappy. Danny can cook probably the best of the remaining men, but he doesn’t speak up like a head chef. Out of the women…nobody deserves to win. This is going to be the worst winner ever when it is all done. Blech.
Double D: Don’t forget the show is filmed in just a 3-week window, not over months. I doubt Ji could make it back anyways. It wouldn’t be fair to drop her back into the competition at this point. I still think Julia from two seasons ago could reappear at some point.
As a multi-concept restaurant owner, I hope there is no one who watches this show that thinks there is anything “real” about it. Most of the contestants couldn’t get a job in a full service restaurant. When this show is over, I can assure you none of these people with be running any up scale restaurant. They may have the title, but won’t have the authority. Ramsay’s failures in the restaurants he has “coached” and his own restaurants are run on publicity. When it’s over they are gone.
Ramsay is a joke and so is the show – apparently that is the point!
While I like the show and have watched it since it began and will continue you to, I find it annoying that the show states thousands of people (I’ll certainly not call them chefs/cooks) applied and this was the best of them? Now come on show folks, let’s really get real. Do you really expect us to believe that Lacey, Seth, J, were the best of the bunch and that they were picked for their “culinary skills”?? They were picked for their “entertainment value”, pure and simple.
Oh, and Larry…as a “multi-concept restaurant owner”, I’m surprised you have time to watch a show that is a joke as busy as you must be. You really should work on your time management skills to free up that wasted time on something more worthy of yourself.
I just get repulsed that all of these cooking shows have the chefs sticking their bare/unwashed hands in all of the food they serve! They handle raw meat, etc., then everyone is “tasting”/sticking their fingers and hands in it. Ramsey throws every piece of “imperfect” food in the garbage, spits on it, etc. There are so many people who cannot even afford food these days. It makes me wonder how much food/money they throw away every week on these shows!!
My friend was born and raised in Atlantic City, so Iasked her what would be the shocking thing to happen enxt week and she said that the new season for Hell’s Kitchen starts this July, not later in the Fall but july. Maybe the peopleat the Borgata is watching this show and decided they didn’t want any of these sorry azs chefs working for them since they are the high roller casino in the city.
Carol thought she got away with it and Ramsay was sick of her service for a long time. Many of us noticed how in the kitchen Carol and Andrea were always joined at the hip so to speak with the stations needing more cooperative work than others. In addition, Carol’s work actually tanked LA last week so I think Ramsay noticed it too. Our money was on Ji to win and she went out hurt.Maybe Ramsay’s so pissed off that he wants to fire all of them and start over. I know if was the CEO of the Borgata in ACNJ I wouldn’t hire any of them, not even Giovanni.
A lot of chef/cooks smoke. When you work with food the last thing you feel like doing mid shift is eating. At the end of shift you smoke to unwind. It’s a stressful job but a lot of fun. It’s not for the faint of heart or the whiny sensitive types. The name calling and swearing isn’t personal. If you can’t deal with it, it’s not the job for you.
None of the contestants this season is ready to be a head chef. Danny shows a lot of promise and in a few years with a little more experience he’d be great.
Everyone else…
Hacks.
There are more talented cooks in a Denny’s.
Some people take things way too serious. This show shows what probably goes on in the kitchen of some of your favorite resaurants. Chef Ramsey is ultimate. He keeps it A-1 with the chefs while being himself. Everyone has a higher up. Many don’t like that higher up. You have to find humor in things that might not seem funny at first glance. Take the show a little lighter.
& my money’s on Danny, the kids got talent and class! Cute too!
