Swathed in a high-end red leaf lettuce couture gown that’s still less ridiculous than anything she wore during last season’s Dancing With the Stars, Cloris Leachman continues the show’s proud tradition of stumping for PETA. (DWTS judge and PopWatch blogger Carrie Ann Inaba posed with her cat, Shadow, in a previous campaign.) I was all set to award Cloris’ costume a hearty DANCMSTR-esque "Seh-vehhhhhhhhn!" until a few minutes ago, at which point I realized I was eating my third real (i.e. non-Applebee’s) salad of 2009. So, in the interest of my own health, I give it a 10. [Switching gears into Bruno Tonioli impression]…"Tehhhhhhhhn!"
Leachman’s autobiography, Cloris, will be on sale Tuesday. The lady’s having a big year — she got to make out with Jack Black on The Office (funny she’ll put Jack Black’s tongue in her mouth but not a burger), she’ll appear in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds in August, and she’s part of the all-star ensemble cast of the upcoming love-stories anthology New York, I Love You.
Anyone else jazzed by the Comeback of Cloris? Now go eat a salad. Let salad grow on you.

There are far more reputable, legitmate, & far less politically motivated animal rights groups to support than children abusing PETA. I’ve seen their horribly graphic brainwashing comic books. I’m very sorry Cloris Leachman, a talented & intelligent woman, & Dancing With the Stars both participate in such a sorry organization. I’m all for animal rights but I am just as totally against PETA’s ulterior methods & motives towards promoting their agenda on children. I’ve lost respect for an otherwise great show & her.
I am now no longer Team Edna Garrett.
I love vegetables, though I’m no vegetarian. If it were anyone else than PETA I’d adore this ad. But it’s PETA, so I’m in the mood for some KFC.
@Kimberly — With “friends” like you, animals don’t need enemies. I loathed Clorky’s stint on DWTS, but she’s gone up many pegs in my book. Cloris, you go girl! Nothing is sexier or more attractive than compassion, and no organization does more to draw attention to the plight of animals around the world than PETA. I think I’ll go send them a check right now!
My friend recommended me a very interesting place *** WealthyRomances com *** It’s where wealthy singles looking for someone to enjoy their wealthy lifestyle with.
People who support PETA need to look in to their real agenda which is NO animal ownership at all. That means ne pets, no zoos, no farms, no animal products such as leather, meat, eggs etc. Don’t be fooled by their emotinal brainwashing attempts.
