'Idolatry': Behold! It's Kristy Lee Joy Corkrey! (And the Greatest American Hero!)

Categories: American Idol, Idolatry

Ladies and gentlemen…Idolatry executive producer Jason Averett stayed up reeeeeallly late last night (hopefully he didn’t forget to eat dinner!). But let his sleep deprivation/delirium be your delight. Today’s Idolatry episode may not feature Kristen Baldwin slapping herself silly, but as my cohost Nicholas Fonseca and I discuss the highs and lows of Motown Week, a new and powerful threat to Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert rises like a Phoenix from the ashes. Plus: Paula gets subversive! Press play, and enjoy!

    Loved everything this week!!!
Great top 3, very funny stuff.

  • Anna P

Can’t stand Megan Jokery. Poor vocals, bad dancing, fake “cutsieness”…

  • Valerie

That would be my dream Top 3 as well ! Keep the dream alive !
Also, love the robo-Megan, it’s hilarious ! Thanks, guys, I always look forward to Idolatry, it’s one of the only reasons not to fast-forward the judges’ comments !

I LOVE IDOLATRY!! Keep up the great work!! So clever, funny and entertaining!! Michael, thank you for your recaps–I know how much work you put into them!! Look at the humdreds of commens that you get every time you write something on EW. I am a big fan of American Idol, and I am always anxious to read your reviews. I like a few of the contestants this season, but I am always excited to see what Adam Lambert will look like and wat he will be singing!! I replay his performance a few times each week, just to re-enjoy the experience. I also think that Allison is terrific, Kris is cute and a sweet singer, Matt has great talent, Anoop is good–hope he keeps getting better, and Danny is entertaining. Still wish Ju’not, Jamar, and Ricky Braddy had been in this group!

To those who are saying is Idol being rigged, it is not. We have numbers to prove it. I got an email from a spy within Idol organization who see the results firsthand.
    Check this out:
    1. Anoop 6,051,421
    2. Adam 5,751,098
    3. Danny 4,958,763
    4. Lil 4,015,309
    5. Megan 3,110,055
    6. Allison 3,021,357
    7. Kris 2,975,642
    8. Scott 2,116,421
    9. Matt 2,075,642
    10. Michael 1,820,045
So there you have it, Anoop will definitely win this competition.
I pity blondes who join the competition. They usually get the flak from EVIL people who think they are better than other people. Get a life people, the judges picked Megan Joy as a wildcard. You BULLIES!!!
I cant believe why Danny Donkey is still in the show. He is superbly horrible.

  • That was BRILLIANT

    BEST.IDOLATRY.EVER.
LMAO. Megan really does look like a blow-up, shall we say, “companion doll” manufactured in a technologically superior place.
    Too, too funny. Bravo!

I’m glad you are on board for Adam but I can’t understand how you think he was not emotionally connected before this last performance. There was plenty of emotion when he raised his hand and sang about equality. And Rings of Fire was all emo. Check back on other performances and you will see it was there too.

Great Idolitry !! I can even hear Scott singing that song if they should have “TV theme song week”

  • khomphuong

I just hate everything about Michael although sometimes he gives me a good entertaining. The way he talks, hand movement…Please GOD , take him away.

  • Staci

No matter what happens in the competition, Anoop is my American Idol for 2009. No amount of praise for the pimp ones will change my mind. Anoop is different without being over the top. His talent and charisma may not have convinced the judges yet but the Troops & Desai-ples have discovered what this show has been lacking and hopefully the everyone else will figure it out too.

  • Kelly

My dream top 3 as well – love Adam, Kris, and Allison. Matt would be in my top 4. Dump Danny at 5, the rest earlier.

  • LuluQ

Loved, loved this Idolatry! Whoever is responsible for the Japanese segments and other film clips — fabulous! So funny and true.

  • Ken

Michael Slezak You Idol videos are the best. And every year there seems to be an unwanted contestant that over stays their welcome. This year Megan is season eight’s Sanjaya. They both look good so the public keeps them around because some “Americans hate talent”.

  • The Elder

I’ll admit that Adam had a “moment” this week but I’m sorry I am just not feeling him. At all. On a happier note, I’m happy that Godzilla is back.

  • Cook Crazed

LOVE it! How Megan survives week after week is ridiculous. Shouldn’t even be in the top 10, Alexis was way better. Don’t understand the whole Adam thing, most of the time he is screaming. Talk about a drama queen. If Kris doesn’t make top 5 at least, I will stop watching. Not because he’s cute (which he is) but he has the best, most consistent voice. Oh wait – I forgot – this is America hates talent.
