Well, in my opinion, the Wii has the other systems beat. What other systems can get you moving like the Wii. With games like Sports, Wii Fit, My fitness coach etc, video gaming has become exercise at the same time as being fun. My wife and I have each lost about 30-35 lbs just by working out with the Wii. Can anyone say that about the others?

Up until the Wii, I was a casual gamer. But then I played through Mario Galaxies, Zelda, and Mario Kart, as well as trying my hand at Mortal Combat. I think that is the true mark of a good NEW system. It's accessible to all types and still manages to include complex and entertaining games. Of course, since I found the Wii, I've played the other systems as well. Another comment, lots of people say the Wii has no adult games and while many aren't as violent as some other consoles, is that a bad thing? Adult isn't just the violent quotient.

Stuck on a desert island? PS3. No contest.
We bought a Wii for Christmas and had a great time playing over the holidays. Once the novelty of the swinging our arms rather than pushing buttons wore off, the Wii began to gather dust. Using the Wiimote may be simple for those not willing to take a minute or two and familiarize themselves with a PS3 or XBox controller, but that hardly makes it superior. Outside of Wii Sports, I haven't enjoyed using the Wiimote at all. Especially in conjunction with the nunchuck, I find it awkward and unresponsive. My biggest fear is that Sony and Microsoft will see the motion control feature as the reason the Wii succeeded (and not the price, which is truly why everyone I know who owns a Wii bought it), and will copy the Wiimote, to the serious detriment of the future of gaming. As for Wii games being more "family friendly," maybe so. But that doesn't make them better. That's like saying Candyland is a better game than chess, simply because it's easier!

I was always a firm believer of "Better graphics, don't make for a better game". A lot of gamers don't seem to understand that concept. Certinly Microsoft dosn't get that. They don't understand anything. With Xbox and PS, they take a Tim Allen approach with "MORE POWER!" *grunt grunt* and forget what video games are suppose to be about...fun!
Nintendo changed the video game world, brought it out of the ashes in the 80's with the NES. Was even better with the SNES. and now they are changing the way we play games again. The Wii and Nintendo will always deserve its own throne. And yeah I am a fanboy of Nintendo. have been for 20+ years. I was born Nintendo, and I will die nintendo.
Nintendo has said all along, we want everyone to play! from kids to grandparents. I fully expect game developers to take notice of what the Wii has done thus far, and take it more seriously, when creating future titles. So the outlook for the Wii is only going to get brighter!

Which system would I rather be stuck with on a desert island? The Gamecube, thanks. I could rock with Metroid Prime 1 and 2 for years and never notice the passage of time, let alone whether or not a new video game system had ever been born.
