The Wii just seems like a game console for the modern generation… It feels futurisitc…

((please- the only good thing about the PS3 is the online. their HOME system is stupid. Everything SONY did this time was rip off Microsoft and Nintendo… and as for their games- all the good ones can be played on the 360 (except metal gear)! and for some strange reason, the ps3 being much more of a graphical powerhouse doesnt even bother being mentioned if the games look better on the 360! SONY done messed up this system and don’t get me started on the PSP (piece of $hit portable)…))
I have both the 360 and ps3 and i’ll be the first to admit that ps3 home is stupid, but in the end the ps3 is the most powerful console with the most features and just like the ps2 and psx before it, the Sony consoles have been notoriously hard to make games for, looking back, we all know the ps2 had major potential that was exposed later in its lifespan, just look at god of war II, in the end I’m a PS360 fan boy, and the wii is a crappy console

I think that the ingenuity of the Wii is often over looked. For every Zelda or Mario Galaxy that uses the motion controls perfectly, there are a dozen more that don’t. I think that most developers aren’t giving it the attention that it deserves, thus hurting the games that are released. That’s why most people stick to just playing games like Wii Fit/Play/Sports over and over again. They’re one of the few games that use the Wii so well that you can stand to play them more than once.

It’s simple. It’s cheaper and everyone can use it. My 70-something year old grandparents can barely work the remote control to the TV, but they can bowl on the Wii.

Alex-so now youre gonna tell me you have to wait till the last year of a console/the beginning of the new one to get a great game from SONY? well thats just wack… god of war 2 came out when the ps3 was launching- the ps2 was an amazing system. but if thats what SONY is planning on doing with the ps3 then thats just stupid. They NEED to do it now! right now BOTH their sytems are in the bottom of the totem pole… what the hell are they waiting for? btw- Alex- you DO know that the next console’s that Sony & Micro will make will DEFINATELY up the motion control’s and you can say goodbye to the controller scheme cause thats not where the money is anymore- the Wii is the future of gaming- the sooner you realize that, the easier the pill will be for you to swallow…

The Wii is a good system if you like titles “Pretty Princess Tea Party” or “My Cat Skip” or some nonesense like that. Nintendo has forsaken the hardcord gamers, which made them who they are today but putting out this crap. The 360 is really the only good system out there now. I have a PS3 but only use it for blu-ray movies. I find downloading demo’s on the Ps3 to be very difficult, even with a high speed connection, in addition it messes up my entire system. I have to reset both my modem and router every time I use it, something the the 360 does not do.

and i agree conor- and thats the main problem with the wii- it just doesnt get enough quality third party games and most of them are just cashing it in… but now with Sega pushing out MadWorld and The Conduit we should (hopefully) start seeing developers actually realizing that theyll make MORE money if they put out quality- Look at what they did with Guitar Hero for the Wii- they put out a quality game and now its the number one GH for all the systems…

The fact the ps2′s potential came out later in its lifespan doesn’t automatically mean that the same will happen to the ps3, we’ve already seen this with Killzone 2′s graphics, the stupid little wii would blow up trying to run that, and with the great exclusive lineup heading to the ps3 this year, its only a matter of time. In the end the ps360 is for serious gamers who want the best they can get out of their system for the money, and wiis for the casual gamer who doesn’t care about big games with great graphics, look at the wii, its a video game system with a web browser, look at the 360 its a powerful system with great graphics with a great current game lineup, dvd player, which you can save your media to and great online service, and finally the ps3, the most powerful thing at the moment, with its great graphics and decent current games with a great lineup for this year and next, which you can save your media to, bluray player/ dvd upscaler and web browser

Just an observation. Here’s the list of high-scoring games cited in the article:
    >Resident Evil 5, MLB 09, Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, Halo Wars, etc.
Notice anything interesting about that list? Except for MLB, they’re all fighting and/or killing games with cool graphics – the kind that hardcore gamers love, but that don’t have the wide appeal of many WII games.
Videogame reviews are – for the most part – written by and for hardcore gamers on hardcore sites (or in associate magazines) – and there are far more hardcore sites/reviewers for PS3 and XB360 than there are for WII.
WII is obviously doing quite well – and people might want to remember that when this “generation” of videogame consoles came out, everyone (all the “experts”) had written off Nintendo’s WII, expecting it to run a distant third to the SONY and MSoft’s powerhouses.
Nintendo must have done something right – and from where I sit, they’re still doing it.

    @ Todders lmao funny video

but thats the thing- to you graphics are the sole reason to play a game- who cares if its fun as long as it looks great! and then what do you do when youre done with Killzone 2 and then Resistance 3 comes out and then Killzone 3 comes out and then Resistance 4 comes out? do you ever go back? do the games ever get repeast playability when its done? thats wonderful thats i just payed $400 for my ps3 and i can spend hours upon hours designing a room on Playstation Home but when i pay $60 for a game- I kinda want to play it more than once when i finish it…

  • PsychoSonic

Ahh guessing since you just bought one* you probably have a non backwards compatibly ps3..well..sucks for you..anyway..there’s plenty of games that offer replayability, a game like killzone 2 isn’t one of them, while the story mode is fun, its short, but its online is great that offers hours of high quality fun, and why not just rent a game instead of buying one just to end up complaining about it..or do some research on it? In my case with a 60gb launch model ps3 and an 80gb b/c ps3, i have thousands of ps1/ps2 and ps3 games to choose from so I’m never short on selection

1st and 4most, i want 2 say that i have a wii and ps3. and i gotta give it 2 nintendo, they have a very cool system. the wii has definitely changed the game in terms of ingenuity and player interaction. there’s no argument about that. ingenuity is great, but it only takes u so far. unfortunately the wii still lacks what the nintendo 64 and game cube lacked. games geared towards adults. this system is definitely for families, children, and people who are casual gamers. since i bought the wii, i’ve only purchased 2 games….mario party and mario kart. that’s it! i purchased my wii 3 months after it’s release. so i’m averaging 1 game/year 4 the wii. on the other hand, i purchase games for my ps3 @ a minimum of 4 games/year. sony just has more solid games that appeals to some1 like me. i don’t care about cross platform games or exclusives. as long as the games are solid i’m happy. unfortunately that’s where the wii falls a little short.

I got a PS3 for my birthday last fall and I was really excited until I realized that its more trouble than its worth. Everything I download from PSN and half the games I bought don’t work. I’ve had Geek Squad over to my house twice and they couldn’t find a problem. I called SONY and their answer was to reset the system–which I did and I’m still having problems. I feel like I’ve been ripped off. Knowing what I know now, I would’ve gone for the Xbox.
