STFU!!! Go back and flirt with your sister.
Thumbs up for giving Adam the same song I’d select for him. Thumbs down for even giving songs done by Jon Peter Lewis and Latoya London.
If Adam can do more performances as the one he did for Motown night, then I won’t say that he’s nothing but a hard rock band frontman. That performance showed that he does not need all of the angst and the over the topness. Oh, and Almond Joy–I mean Megan Joy Cokrey is going home. Only Sinatra could have pulled off her arrangement. It was toe up!
Do not like Scott or Michael on Motown week. One of them needs to go. It is a guy time to leave. Give Megan another chance to show improvement. Not sure that will help. Tried to get in to vote and could not get thru. Tried others and it went thru just fine. What’s up? Are you blocking some so they will go home. Not fixed, I hope all is fair.
Adam, Wow! Was that our Adam last night. I have been defending him and was blown away with what he did . Allison did a close 2nd but Adam won the whole evening.
Title: “Reality Check”
The judges are right: it takes more than singing ability- it takes presence; a sense of comfort on stage- and creativeness- it is an art form and the form is as important as the vocals. This is not a Junior High popularity contest- grow up.
1) Adam Lambert-the professional; broadly aware and in a league of his own. He is Paul Potts of England’s Got Talent. We should concede and now decide who American Idol #2 is
(2) Allison Iraheta- she can be #2 precisely BECAUSE she is 16! She is genius- more than a smoky voice- she knows how to work it and is at home when performing. Her creativity is second only Adam
(3)Danny Gokey-Intuitively my thought is that some people don’t like him just because they sense he has a belief system that overrides his desire to be famous, Ignore your propensity to be uncomfortable with anything that makes you feel judged. Actually, he has reacted to criticism with the most joyful humility. He has fabulous vocals and is also extremely comfortable on stage. He has a following for a reason.
(4) Matt Giraud- His talent is not unrecognized. In his field, certainly one of the best, but he has little sex appeal- I didn’t say none, just little. People who list him as #1 have either none themselves or don’t have a sense of the masses- whoever you are; don’t go into advertising. Matt may be like the wildly creative Arrested Development- hailed by the industry but lost on the masses.
(5) Lil Rounds- we have been too hard on her because she is so good and we expected her to be Fantasia. She is not and, even when not at the top of her game, is better than most. There is a certain defensiveness on her part that must stop. Take the criticism, smile, agree when you can and make light of any areas of weakness. Tell us that you will work on the areas that will keep you from being great; which is better than really really good.
(6) Kris Allen – There is a reason why the Junior High crowd adores him- he is cute but just replay his vocals next to Adam or Allison and he should go home in about four weeks.
(7) Megan Corkrey- I only put her after Kris because she does not have as much cross-over appeal. However, she is actually one of my favorites. She has wonderful potential and a very unique fabulous sound. Please please someone please pick her songs for her- like it or not; we do want her to do well because she is so beautiful. Honor beauty as you would pipes.
(8) Anoop Desai – very charming, wonderful smile and fabulous eyes. Anoopdog- look INTO the camera- find that red light and stick with it. Look at us with those bedroom eyes and croon to us. However, his vocal will never measure up to the great talent of the front runners.
(9) Michael Sarver- Yes, he is now off the show, in part, because of the judges. If you thought better of him, you thought better of speaking up because he got such a bad rap. He does have a certain appeal. For that I put him above Scott who has next to none
(10) Scott MacIntyre- let me be direct and candid; there is Jose Feliciano and tonight, as if to rub it in- the great, the one and only, the king – Stevie Wonder. These men have sex appeal and that unmistakable stage presence. Scott is just awkward; has a good, not great voice but is no idol except in his perseverance. Give him an award; put him in front of challenged youth and be done with it already.
