UPDATE: ‘Dancing with the Stars’ recap: Ooh, foxy

You can do it Annie
Let me be the first to say, this is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining seasons yet! The Woz was painful to watch, but curiously exhilarating too. I forced my Mac-crazy husband to watch it and he screamed “oh no, my eyes!.” It was the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time. Aside from that, I LOVE the “journey” (to use a hideously overused reality tv word) of Ty and Lawrence. There are colorful characters in Lil Kim and Steve-O. Chuck and Julianne are cute, and could grow into contenders. (the judges mark them too hard!) Last, but not least, Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini are glorious to watch. It’s refreshing to see a young woman who isn’t a stick figure show America you don’t have to be size zero to be smooth, graceful and beautiful. She is an amazingly mature 17-year-old and I hope she makes it to the end. Gilles is just pure charisma and sex appeal and natural dance talent. And a nice guy too! I will be astonished if he doesn’t win.
The talent last season stunk! This season’s stars have alot more talent than last season’s. Also, the show is better off not having people are only famous for ridiculous things like filming a sex tape or coming out of the clost after their group boke up five years before.
Random thoughts: A three-way tie for 1st place in only week three makes this one of the most competitive seasons to date. But the dropoff to the bottom is shocking. Did The Woz just get the lowest score ever? And yet I enjoyed we enjoyed what he brought to the floor. He was totally into it and having a good time. On that note he outdanced Denise who was again, for some unknown reason, a bundle of nerves. She threw down last week. What happened? Even Steve-O blanked out. But, that was probably brought on by his back spasms. Too bad. Lacey put together another stunner for them but for the 2nd week he couldn’t pull it off live. He might be in the danceoff tomorrow night. One person who won’t be in the danceoff is Lil Kim and her “bionic booty.” She continues to impress along with Ty Murray. Ty was shockingly good again. That routine was the first time I ever saw a pro be the weak link in the dance. Still, overall, they were great and the competition was hot. Great job by all.
Hey Annie,
I kid, I kid…. I always imagine someone yelling at me when I’m surfing ew.com instead of finishing up a report so I thought I’d pass along my help. Did the Woz get the lowest score in DWTS’s illustrious history? I hope you’ll tell us in your recap. Good luck with the writing!
Get your lazy butt back to writing. No more snacking, time for work
Steve Wozniak is just painful. He’s too much of a twit to be a genius. Ugh. All those mac people better stop voting for him. And my poor Maks. He deserves another Mel B or Laila. But Gilles is worth it ALL. Since I saw SATC many times, let me repeat: ALL.
Annie the episode was kind of a snooze but surely with the proper amount of caffeine you can muster up a Holly Madison joke and some zingers about Samantha Harris? You can do it!
Gilles was amazing! I think he deserved atleast one ten… that man can seriously mold into any dance. And on top of that, his humility is just heart warming. And Shawn and Melissa are terrific as well… what great talent this season!
Oh, and the Woz did not get the lowest score ever. If I remember correctly, Master P got an 8 in Season 2 the week that he got the boot. So on the bright side… not the lowest score ever atleast. heh
I think the judges need to be nicer. There is a way to say the dance isn’t good with being cruel and humiliating.
It makes you want to vote for someone that isn’t a good dancer because of the judges words
Does a brownie count as caffeine? I say yes!
Hiya, Annie! Still working out there, somewhere? Random thoughts: Denise deserved scores as low as Steve Woz got, or at least lower than she ended up with! Hers was truly atrocious, like she had never danced before. Holly may have been bad, but not on the same par as Denise, so…Holly really didn’t deserve higher, so Denise should have-again-been lower. Heartbreaking to see David&Kim talking about how they thought they did better than their scores last week-they did! They were robbed. Glad to see better for them this week. Lawrence Taylor is the one robbed this week…Len gave him the same “6″ he gave both Denise & Holly – excuse me?? Heck to the no. Top dancers all deserving, tho personally I still dont feel the Lil Kim love. Ty is still adorable! Side note: I have LOVED *all* of Melissa’s costumes – colors have been fantastic! Boo to Carrie Ann saying this is obviously easy for Melissa – I really don’t agree. I think she has intrinsic ability, but has to still work hard.
Oh totally, Melissa and Tony’s costumes were fab — she looked like the olive he so desperately wanted her to be!
Are you serious? As intelligient as the Woz is, he got a 10? He looks like a Weeble Wobble in a tux!
i’m a casual watcher of the show, but this season has impressed me. i like shawn, gillies, and even melissa who i thought i’d loathe. the abc star usually does. ty, lil kim, and even david make me smile too. and chuck wicks is freakin hawt
