Muppets Explain It All...to Jimmy Fallon & Jason Segel

Curmudgeons of the cloth Statler and Waldorf interrupted Jimmy Fallon’s interview with Jason Segel on Friday night, heckling both men and delivering what could be the best summation of Fallon’s Late Night takeover to date. Press play below.

Whether or not you agree with their assessment, it cannot be denied that Jimmy Fallon is the new Fozzie Bear:

Statler and Waldorf were always my favorite muppets :)

I love seeing the muppets, but it is always a little bittersweet because the voices are different. Most people may not really notice, but for a 33-year-old muppet-o-phile (is that a word) like me, I miss the “real” voices (especially Kermit).

Would you please post videos that are NOT from Hulu? I’d like to see this, but Hulu (and often NBC and other network site videos) do not allow people outside of the US to view those videos. You do have readers outside of the US, btw! :)

I hate you Hulu, why can’t you be available in Canada???? WHY????? It’s the CRTC’s fault…i know it.

Jason Segel is the best part of my life. I know he gets tired out from the press junkets, but when he goes on any talk show he just livens it up with his awkward hilarity. And I’m totally pumped for his new muppets movie! Amazing.

    I can’t wait for Segel’s muppet movie.

That just made me wistful for the glory days of Jim Henson and Frank Oz. :(
