What people don’t realize is that though the Idol audience is down, that the only records that are still selling as well as they used to are Gospel and Country. This has become one of the more dependable sales base, and that’s why you see a lot of Christian singers in the top ten. Kris, Danny, Michael, and Matt (to a lesser extent. Be careful about ripping on Christian singers. They’re actually doing very well. I don’t get into all the religious stuff, but I’m a big fan of Danny. So be careful about putting him in the Gospel-Christian stereotype. You can’t possibly back your claims up…without knowing something the rest of us don’t…

Hey – ya know I saw Constantine in a preview showing of Rock of Ages here in NYC – a kind of crazy show but he was entertaining…so case in point – I’d go see Adam on Broadway, easily… would I ever buy his album? No.

    Peace–
I want to see more Big Brother too!

Apparently, some of the people got their hands on the multimillion-person list who dialed in to Idol…and our not sharing it with the rest of us. Sorry, peeps, but I think Idol is better at the marketing game than the rest of us, and they’re not going to bother pimping people that don’t sell. I know I don’t have a million friends that I can speak for.

I agree with Adam being in the #1 spot. The guy can sing and perform; he is truly talented. I think Matt should be behind Adam in the #2 spot. He’s had two strong performances and also has mad talent.
As a whole, the guys are really strong this year. Allison is really the only female competition against these guys.

I am still gray on Adam Lambert. I feel like I should lurve him – really with a capital L – but I am still ‘meh.’ Ring of Fire was entertaining and interesting and dramatic and all things cheezy that I usually love but – but – I don’t know. Does he really have his heart in winning this?

I’m rooting for Kris because I find him so appealing, even though he’s working within a genre I don’t usually like. He does all this sensitive stuff, which usually seems so cloying from a young man (read: John Mayer for one) but somehow Kris feels sincere and appealing. I think that’s a very rare gift. Subtle, but not to be taken lightly…

Matt and Allison for #1 and #2!

Adam @ no.1??? I thought alot of people loathed that performance? I personally didn’t hate it or love it so i’m on the fence, but hey SLezak – Matt G and Anoop should be way higher than that come on!

It’ll be intersesting to see how this season plays out. There has never been an openly gay male pop star at the beginninging of his carer. Elton John, Lance and Clay Aikens all came out after some acheiveing success. Others survived or didn’t survive the rumors. None of the best or most unique vocalist even made it to the top 13. I enjoy Idol as more of a reality show than a singing competition. Let the drama continue!

ANOOP! I really can’t stop listening to Always on My Mind. It’s beautiful.

I have finally come around: I LOVE Adam. The lovefest really started last week with his Black and White, and I thought he completely knocked it out of the park with Ring of Fire. He has an absolutely insane vocal range and true originality, not to mention he is an amazing entertainer!! Everyone else this season = we have heard them all before. Yawn.

I guess people have forgotten that Anoop has failed several times. His “Beat It” was one of the worst this season. You have to be consistent at this early stage of the game, and Anoop has only had ONE good performance.
People need to go back and watch the previous episodes to see how Anoop was not that great.

ADAM LAMBERT SHOULD WIN IT ALL. MOST ORIGINAL. MOST TALENTED. BEST SINGING CHOPS. BIGGEST RISK-TAKER. AND MORE OR LESS LEAVES ALL THE OTHER CONTESTANTS IN THE DUST.

  • linda

I actually really loved Adam Lambert’s rendition of Ring of Fire, it was so original and a bit strange and I thought it was interesting in a good way. At least he is taking chances instead of staying safe and boring.
