Another strong showing for 30 Rock — and the return of Pete! — although Jenna’s plotline was pretty tired.* Tracy and Kenneth’s relationship brought out some amazing moments, but I particularly liked seeing Jon Hamm’s physical comedy. As always, it was tough to pick just a few, but these are my highlights, in chronological order:
1. “Jack, I want you to pay close attention to the following over-the-top eyeroll: Oooooh, brother.” That, followed by Liz’s reaction to the photo of 25-year-old Jack, though – “What the what?!” — really puts the whole interaction over the top.
2. “Sorry it took so long to answer. I was just thinking how weird it is that we eat birds.”
3. “Tracy’s is a tactile/kinesthetic learning style.”
4. “My girl has a fat neck!”
5. “They used footage of me from my high school swim team to draw Prince Eric.”
6. “This racquet is a fart!”
7. “I guess I’m only farm strong and not heart strong.”
How about you, PopWatchers? Do you cook salmon with Gatorade?
*The only fun part was the cameo from the show’s actual hair stylist Richard Esposito. Hee.

I loved when Liz decided to treat him as a normal kid during tennis, and Jon Hamm ended up losing. God, his horrible tennis moves were AMAZING. Why doesn’t Jon Hamm do that on Mad Men (okay, obvious question)?
Plus, when Liz covered his face when she was ordering at the restauranr…so many good moments!
This could possibly be my favorite of the entire season. Plus, Kenneth + Tracy = so cute!
(And what does BFF stand for? I WANT TO KNOW.)
You forgot to mention Jack and Drew’s French speaking abilities. Absolute genius
While the Jenna plotline was pretty tired… any show that mentions merkins is amazing…
I always travel with chopsticks in case I see anyone choking. Only cause I don’t know the right way to shake it out of someone.
THis was one of the funniest shows. What a terrific ensemble cast they have. Only regret is that it looks like John Hamm will be finishing his rule. I do hope they bring him back. This show has some of the best writing on TV.
Paraphrasing, but “I like it here because no one asks me for my bone marrow.”
I too think Jon Hamm should be the next Calvin Klein underwear model.
Personally, I had no idea how funny Jon Hamm was. I’ve heard stories how all of his friends are comedians, and he’s a pretty good dramatic actor but I’d love to see this guy do more comedy. He’s histerical!
Plus pretty good showing of 30 Rock.
The translated French was absolutely brilliant.
I found some of Jenna’s stuff funny..
Jenna: Describe my beauty
Pete: Fading
Cerie: 80′s
Hairdresser: 1880′s
Hahaha!!!
Um, no. The funniest line of the entire episode was the one my roommates and I kept repeating: Kenneth saying “Ohh, NO. When I get upset..” and changing his voice into the throaty, overly-Southern accent. So, so, so funny.
@Elena, BFF = best friend forever.
Probably due to watching Lost the previous night and having heightened my attention to detail, I was mildly annoyed that the subtitles of Jack and Drew’s French gibberish were the same, even though they said different gibberish.
Charles what now? This is all we get for a recap? This was a brilliant episode. Everything worked and it was probably the most cohesive and smooth episode Tina has written. She was fantastic acting-wise too. Love the Jack-Batman-voice. Tracy Jr. was a riot and the Drew-failure-montage was one of my favourite things ever. The Jack/Liz dynamic was particularly excellent.
The episode was HILARIOUS by the way… loved Tracy Morgan almost crying, talking to Kenneth’s fake voice (Chestone?? can’t remember) and Kenneth saying Jenna is exactly how he pictures Mary Magdalene — HAHAHAHAHA, the whore that tempted Jesus — and the other one Judas.
Loved last night. It’s too bad there isn’t anymore Jon Hamm, but maybe just a little is what we needed.
And I can assure @Elena and LJ that BFF does not equal Best Friends Forever in this case. From Liz’s reaction, we may not want to ever know. I’ve got a feeling it’s classic Tracy Jordan level ick!
