I loved the behind scenes report except for the snarky quip about Carrie and David taping their segments. Almost all singers tape their segments for the results show and Idol does creative editing to insert it. There is usually not enough time to set up for 2 different bands or acts during a live show.
I don’t know why they kept telling Alexis to “dirty it up”… I felt the exact opposite. She was a sweetheart, a nice little mom with a surprising mature voice. She shouldn’t have gone, that stupid Michael Blue-Collar Worker should have!
I’ve never been a bit David Cook fan but I feel he at least brought an element of drama to the show seeing as how he snuck up from behind and snatched the whole thing. This year is so predictable so far. That being said, it’s predictable for a reason. As much as everyone is bitter towards the Season 8 Holy Trinity (Rounds-Gokey-Lambert) feeling they’ve been pimped by the judges – they’re showered praise for a reason. They are the three best as far as overall star charisma + good vocals. Anoop has a great voice and has “underdog” appeal, but outside of an American Idol setting he’d never sell – he simply lacks that X-factor. Matt G. is the only other one I could see breaking into that top 3. (And as a disclaimer: Rounds-Gokey-Lambert aren’t necessarily my 3 favorite. I’m just speaking objectively to their overall star appeal).
I want a Melinda Doolittle performance! She just had her debut album last month and it’s pretty impressive! Classic, classy soul all the way.
Alexis shouldn’t been voted off. In reality at least two of the contestants should have never been in the bottom three. But since one had to go home it should have been Michael, based upon those three.
Truth be told the one person that should have NEVER made it to any position is LAMBERT!! He is one freeky dude and full of himself!! Sure he has range and he is different, but a great singer he is NOT. A great singer can sing ANYTHING and EVERYTHING without you having to put earplugs one — remember the “YOU CAN SING THE PHONE BOOK”!! No he can’t!! Yes, he is comfortable on stage only because that’s what he knows!!
America, please vote for VOCALS and not out sympathy, style or because someone is different. We have a number of contestants with great chops this season and they are the ones who should get the votes!!!
Different makes for a good entertainer not a great singer. You want different go to your local strip joint or bars and you will encounter DIFFERENT!!
What does Lambert being different have to do with strip clubs? I worked at a strip club (cocktail waitress)! They’re not any “different” then anyone else. In fact, most of the girls are college/grad-school students not wanting to graduate with 10s of thousands in debt!
Thank God for David Cook,I cant wait to see his performance April 1st! He is THE TRUE American Idol!!!!
Whoever wrote that Rounds-Lambert-Gokey have charisma–I totally disagreee. I won’t buy an album by any of these three.

I don’t really have one true favorite! I have a few hates and there is NO way I’d go see a live top 10 show now. I mean really what are they going to do with Scott? Leave him behind the piano for 2 hours? I guess that would be ok, then I wouldn’t have to look at him! The save is ok, however I don’t think they should have to sing the song they sang the night before because HELLO.. it got them there in the first place! I think they should be able to sing any song they’ve already preformed. I am really going to miss your Smirkelstilskin so hurry back!

Melinda Doolittle! People need to hear her music! It’s Motown-y so they could add another performance next week! Better than any other filler
