Anoop had the best vocal. Megan and Matt also brought it. Kris is freaking adorable, and Allison still rocks. It was definitely an underdog/wildcard night. Loved seeing Adam meeting Randy Travis. That, and his performance was priceless TV. Jesus please take Danny far away.
Kris and Anoop were the best tonight. Adam was so awful I can’t even describe it. And who is he is diss Randy Travis? He’s a nobody and thats the way he is going to stay unless he changes his “holier-than-thou” attitude.
Kris gave his best performance yet (and he just keeps getting MORE dreamy!) but Megan Joy was my favorite tonight and she got my vote.
Funny about Adam though – love him or hate him, the boy has star quality and is memorable and we’re all talking about him!
Adam = Robert Plant + Robert Smith + Axl Rose + Trent Reznor
Okay I’m a dork but this is the first time I’ve liked Adam and I actually lovedlovedLOVED his Ring of Fire! (And I’m writing from Johnny Cash’s stomping grounds.) I love the original too, but I’ve rewound and listened to this four times already. Guy’s finally got me.
I really don’t see what people like in Scott. Yeah, I’m sure he is a nice guy, and you give him credit for overcoming his disability, but he is (by far IMO) the worst singer on the show. Having said that, he’ll last until at least the top 6-7.
Adam actually made me love Ring of Fire more than Dilana from Rockstar, who did this version a few years ago. Loved it then, looooooved it tonight! The whole Middle Eastern flair to it….outstanding. Did we really think he would sing traditional country???
Kara’s nonsense comments are getting ridiculous. Everytime she opens her package artist mouth, the TV is muted. All she does is state the obvious (You are a singer) or tell people to be dirty or naughty. Kara, just please shut up.
I have to see if I was the only one that knew that Kris clearly did not as the judges boasted “made that song his own.” He clearly took Adele’s cover of the Bob Dylan original and sang it almost note for note. I mean he was okay but he didn’t come up with that arrangement. Give credit where credit is due.
I loved Adam as usual. Gokey was so cheeseball, I can’t believe he’s first place on Dial Idol right now. Hopefully the West Coast will change that.
I think I pretty much liked everyone except Sarver and Danny.
I thought Adam was in this to win it, which I think he could do with his talent, looks and personality. But apparently he is not going to compromise his artistic vision even a bit, and I think he is just too out there for the AI audience. Maybe he doesn’t care.
Matt G, Megan Joy, Alexis, Allison…my personal top 4!
I have to say that even though I don’t like Adam and was preparing to hate him tonight, but….actually his performance today was great. It sure was different and not Johnny Cash (and who is he anyway?) but it was something else. I can understand how others may hate it. Megan was absolutely horrible and I don’t understand what she is doint there anyway: she has no voice, her moves are ugly and her tattoo is distractive. I also liked Kris, Allison and Matt tonight. Danny is disgusting even though he does have a voice. I wish I didn’t know the story about his dead wife and the whole church thing. He seems to be a biggest hypocrite.
A) Is it just me or has Megan gone from Megan Corkrey to Megan Joy Corkrey to Megan Joy? Just checking whether or not I’m hallucinating.
B) What on earth was going on with Paula sniffing/licking Simon’s arm?
C) If Scott was half as entertaining while he performed as when he was done (refer to the high five stationary target and tonight’s “we could move the piano closer”) I wouldn’t be picking him to go home this week.
D) Why did everyone miss the whole point of Danny’s outfit? His jacket was a metaphor for the airbag in case the whole wheel thing didn’t work out.
The sooner Danny Gokey gets off my TV screen, the better.
My favorites of the night: Allison, Kris, and Matt. Anoop did a good job as well.
Adam….um….well, he was unforgettable. Somewhat frightening and disturbing, yes.
And if Kara tells Alexis to “dirty it up” one more time, I’m going to puke. What the hell does she want her to do, a spread eagle on a stripper pole?
After Adam’s performance I was extremely happy and extremely sad at the same time.
I love that he didn’t compromise and tried to sing pretty like every other blues/soul singer he is up against.
But I can’t see him winning the competition without a few of those performance for the general public.
Nonetheless he is still going to be the most talked about contestant this week.
