With only 11 performers to fill two hours, the judges comments – and sadly, the retorts from the contestants [Michael, Lil, etc] – are allowed to go on and on. With the exception of Allison, I’ve been bored silly so far.
Oh finally! After Simon calling so many other people indulgent (Jesse, Ricky…), it was about time Adam got slapped with that comment too.

i don’t even know what to say. that was the weirdest thing i have ever seen on american idol. the weird arrangement, the creepy eyes, the way he lifted up his shirt. bleck. i feel like i need a shower.
I’m watching this on DVR, so I’m running behind those watching live, but I had to comment on Allison. She was amazing! I can’t believe that voice is only 16 years old – can you imagine how good she’s going to be when her voice fully develops? And I’m not at all a fan of wine-colored hair, but she looked really pretty.
Bird, I’ll bet they still find a way to run over on time tonight anyway. Just to continue the torture they inflict on DVR users. I’m with you on Allison being the only ray of hope so far tonight.
Please Scott don’t sing “A Broken Wing”.
Just so people don’t get pissed off about Idol “stealing” arrangements like last year, Adam seems to have used the version of “Ring of Fire” done by Dilana from Rockstar Supernova from like 2 years ago.
LOVE Adam!! Indulgent, yes, but he absolutely knows his style and what he’s able to do. Lil…done with her.
So far:
Michael – eh, karaoke, forgettable
Allison – still holding strong
Kris – wonderfully subtle
Lil – Better than the judges said. Is it me or did they in a roundabout way say she sounded too white?
Adam – Not a fan, hated that. I agree with Simon, but I knew Randy & Paula would love it.
Someone needs to advise these Idolwannabes on which songs to sing for this week’s category. Johnny Cash is prolly rolling in his grave right about now. Sorry Adam!
Can Randy Travis be a judge?
Just saw Adam singing Ring of Fire…. I feel dirty… and I like it! But I agree with Simon’ some in Nashville will consider it sacrilege!
When did Johnny Cash go to India for inspiration? Talk about train wreck. It felt as though Adam was trying to hypnotize a snake in the audience, and he failed miserably.
Prediction: Megan follows up the non-intuitive choice of Rockin’ Robin with Achy Breaky Heart. Simon & co go wild.
