I think Jennifer Aniston is swell — and as a truly funny, appealing lady, one of the best applicants we’ve got for the nebulous romantic-comedy queen gig left vacant years ago by Meg Ryan. But wow, is this new movie of hers, Management, the best a girl gets as a reward for having her entire life played out in gossip pages every day? The Devil clearly has the advantage in this deal. The basics: Management appears to star Aniston and Steve Zahn as mismatched would-be soul mates who meet cute when she, an art dealer, stays at the motel where he’s an underachieving assistant manager. But oops, she has a rich boyfriend played by Woody Harrelson and…well, that’s it. Oh, there’s also a running joke about how Zahn wants to touch her butt. Seriously.
Aside from all of the above egregiousness, this trailer also clearly demonstrates the three cardinal romantic comedy sins: (1) uptight woman meets loosey-goosey guy who gets her to LIGHTEN UP and LIVE IN THE MOMENT and probably LAUGH OUT LOUD and/or REMEMBER HER SPIRIT; (2) dude stalks love interest in such a way that any sane woman with normal boundaries in real life would call the police; and (3) script is neither romantic nor comedic.
What do you think? Am I being too hard on Management? Do you think it will be Aniston’s New in Town?

Totally going to watch this movie. Very cute trailor
I think it looks funny and cant wait to see it. is it finally getting a wide release?
This movie is trying so hard to be a quirky independent comedy and it comes off as trash.
I agree with Armstrong, the trailer makes this film look run-of-the-mill. Where’s the Aniston from ‘The Good Girl’?
Doesn’t look too bad, but, yeah, she deserves better. This one’s definitely a rental, if that.
Wow. That looks really, really bad. That trailer succeeded in making me NOT want to see the film. How could they put a line can I touch your butt not once but twice in a trailer for a film that’s supposed to appeal to women.
Oh whatever. She’ll never top Friends anyway. Besides,I kinda liked her in Rumor Has It you all bashed it so maybe I should see this.
Cinematic cancer. Ugh.
That looked so bad, all of the three leads deserve much better, and yes, if I were the Jennifer Aniston character I would get a restraining order in real life. If she still wants to be a major movie star, this is not the way to go. She’s good in ensemble comedies (Friends With Money, Office Space) or with a strong comedian (Jim Carrey, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn).
I think this film maybe almost a art house type film I could be wrong so while they may say it is a romantic comedy which I am sure it is they may not be giving away everything in the trailer which would be refreshing.
I think it looks good. Also, I remember when this played at one of the festivals, and it was reviewed on ew.com by 2 people (I forget who), and they said they liked it. So maybe ask your coworkers who’ve already seen it.
This looks like a movie that should be playing at 2AM on Comedy Central right now after it went to straight to dvd 10 years ago.
Would not go see it in the theater, but without question would see it on dvd.
this movie looks terrible!! That haircut is horrible on J Aniston!! She looks like a 45 year old middle aged mother of 3. The whole premise looks stupid.. Obviously she end up with Zahn in the end and she learn about tru love yada yada yada.. And this is a comedy?? Yuck!
*gulps*
I…liked….it. Seriously, it wasn’t a bad trailer. I mean, I probably will see it when they start to show it on tv, but it seriously doesn’t look have bad. It feels like a quiet yet sweetly funny movie. I am not even a Jennifer Aniston fan. Maybe something is wrong with me.
