'Celebrity Apprentice' recap: Say yes to the dress

Thanks to their third loss in a row, the men have definitely got a bit of a complex and feel like the deck is stacked against them. Despite any attempt at suspense, you just knew the women would win the wedding dress challenge. There were only a few questions that came out of the show: Do you really think that a cat allergy was the reason why Dennis Rodman didn’t show up that day? Who would have guessed that we’d see Tom Green in a dress before Dennis? Could Brian McKnight have been any more uncomfortable when Tom asked him to zip up his dress (see below)? Who do you think should have been fired last night?

Not that I expect Reality TV to be real, but what the hell is going on when Rodman is still on the show and Tom Green is gone? Rodman is worthless!

I actually would’ve fired Dennis Rodman last night.
Then again, that probably has a lot to do with the fact that I became a big fan of Tom Green on this show over the first two weeks of “Celebrity Apprentice”, especially after last week when Scott, Herschel and Clint basically decided to totally ignore and gang up on him. I think Tom was one of the few really creative people on the men’s team (Jesse James being the other) and Scott, Herschel and Co. just didn’t know what to do with him, and responded VERY poorly when Green expressed his frustration through clownishness. What impressed me the most was how Tom relatively kept his cool the entire time, and never resorted to demeaning remarks (I guess Canadians ARE nicer, by and large.)

Tom Green, who asked to be the project manager last week, knew he was going to lose from the first second the task, selling wedding dresses, was announced. After giving it all he had last week, he just seemed to give up this week. Not that Rodman was any better. If they didn’t have X number of episodes required, I’m sure Trump would have fired him too.
And once again, the task has changed from which side has more business acumen to who can soak more of their rich friends.
If you’re rich, the scariest words you will hear from a friend are “I’m gonna be on Celebrity Apprentice.” You know you’re going to have to drop five grand on a cupcake, or wedding dress you’ll never use.

All that being said, I can’t get TOO outraged about Green being fired. Sure, I think he did a better job of managing his talent that Scott last week (except of course in the case of the unmanageable Dennis Rodman). Still, as Trump said in the boardroom, Green didn’t bring in ANY money and also completely failed in making the wedding boutique space look presentable or attractive. I’m also not totally buying the whole “I was late because I was knocking on Rodman’s door for 20 minutes thing.” He probably overslept, and if he didn’t he still should’ve been up in time (or at least better communicated to his team that he wasn’t going to be up at the same time as they were). Finally, Tom’s only hope was to go after Dennis HARD in the boardroom, and that just doesn’t seem like his style.
I actually agree with Jesse (who’s fast becoming my favorite). Tom AND Dennis probably deserved to go.
(Can you tell I’m paying a bit TOO much attention to this show?)

obviously the idiot Trump kept Rodman on for ratings, but that’s rather pointless when he can’t even be bothered to show up. He has been invisible on the show for he first 3 weeks and clearly doesn’t want tp be there. Trump really is an idiot.

Trump can’t be keeping Rodman for entertainment purposes because he is like a damp squib.

As much as I loved Dennis Rodman on the BBall court, he should have gone last night! I was surprised, I was liking Toms antics…he added some funny to an otherwise boring/serious season. I thought Joan would bring more comedy but she is really taking this show seriously! They all need to lighten up and have fun! Of course, not the kind of fun Dennis is having. …and Clint Black just seems like a grouchy old man!

I think Trump is so in awe of his “favorites” (Rodman), he cant see that Rodman has no desire to even participate.

  • lisa

Trump should have asked Joan Collins to participate. Now THAT would be worth watching: Joan vs Joan.

  • Babulah

I agree with RockGolf…the show has just become “who’s got the richest friends”…nothing about business. Why should they spend all their time decorating a fabulous store when they weren’t really “selling” anything to the consumer…it was only a fundraiser.

  • Babulah

Maybe Rodman had it written in his contract that he would only do the show if he lasted X number of episodes. He was demanding like that in the NBA. Its the only reason I can come up with why he didn’t let Rodman go.

  • Nick

Rodman is a lazy pig. He should have been fired. Actually, he should never have been hired for the show. The guy thinks the world owes him.

  • John Atkinson

How is it possible that a worthless slob could reluctantly show up twice, do absolutely nothing, and be kept on? And the team leader whose team raised more than $60,000 be fired? I think the show loses all credibility with a selection like that.

  • Babulah

They did show Rodman having a big meltdown next week. Maybe he’ll quit and they’ll bring Tom back. I can only hope! :)

  • michelle

Rodman will be the next one to go. He can’t get along with anyone, and his “me” attitude stinks. No team effort on his part either.
