'Ghost Whisperer': The episode we've been waiting for!

Ghostwhispererlove_l I didn’t want to put a spoiler in the headline, so it was either "Ghost Whisperer: The episode we’ve been waiting for!" or "Ghost Whisperer: … Yay!"If you saw the promo for last night’s show in which David Conrad said "Why do you keep calling me Sam?," you guessed that we were getting our Jim back. (Plus, it’s sweeps, which is probably why CBS’ promo department spoiler-ed itself.) I almost wish I hadn’t known. I bet my reaction would’ve been even stronger had I not been expecting it to be "the one." I mean, I still experienced a strong desire to hug someone, which is pretty great. But I’ve could been jumping off the couch and doing a little "[Shake it to the left] Jim! Jim! [Shake it to the right] Jim! Jim!" dance. (I’d had a large, killer mango margarita with dinner. I was primed.)

How did you celebrate the return of Jim? I didn’t realize how much I missed the sweet, laid-back, wrap-you-in-a-blanket-of-love tone of voice Conrad reserved for that personality until I heard it again. (Watch the "Just call me Jim, Mel. It’s my name" clip after the jump.) What are you most looking forward to now that the couple is reunited? (I’m all about seeing Conrad wear those wifebeaters to bed again… and carrying around this major spoiler.) And was the resolution to the "Sim" storyline (that’s amnesiac Sam, with Jim’s soul inside him) dramatic enough for you? Sim’s "Leap of Faith" into the water filling the underground tunnels, where ghost Dr. Byrd told Eli Melinda was trapped after trying to save another "step-in," did it for me. After watching his swim again, I think that Jim finally emerged in Sim when Sam’s body neared death (again), and that Jim’s life passed before his eyes when he realized that he’d been holding his breath for two minutes. That montage melted my jaded TV viewer heart. Or maybe it was just the shots of Conrad in a wet T-shirt. Either way… Yay!

Im actually looking forward to, and wondering if this means they will get married again. I hope that they keep calling him Jim though, I dont want him to be called Sam anymore.

Too little too late, I stopped watching this show after the disaster of Jim taking over someone else’s body in the first place. Not interested.

Obviously you are interested or you wouldn’be reading and posting. I felt the same way originally and am so glad I hung in there. This series just keeps getting better and better! Go… watch… get caught up… be a fan again!!

i’m sorry, but as long as Jim is ‘dead’ and occupying another’s body it will always stink. what happens to the other person’s identity then? she’s still technically with another person.

aww, i almost cried! It was so, so sweet, when she realized what had happened.
I am curious, though, about how we move on.

When I saw Jim (Sam) go into the water to save Melinda then seen him get stuck I thought for sure he was going to die again. I got really nervous till I seen he was having flashbacks and was able to free himself. Then when the moment happened I heard him say “Just call me Jim, Mel. its my name” Melinda starts crying I was ESCATIC!!! I have never cried like that in my life. I wanted to go in and hug him myself!! I am sooo GLAD he is back!!!

Yea I agree, it would have been more empowering if it wasn’t spoiled in the promo, but nonetheless it was well worth the 12 ep wait. We and Mel learned to appreciate Jim more. This will in return will definitely lead to more romantic outing everyone has been rooting for.
I like how this storyline is like a play on the metaphor, “beauty is only skin deep.” Season 4 is definitely the best. Cannot wait to see the remaining few eps of the season :].

I am very, very happy about this episode. Even if I was completely spoiled, I tought it was very sweet. I love how David Conrad can go from Sam to Jim with a minor change in his voice and his demeanor.
Welcome back Jim, don’t ever leave us again!!

It has been an interesting season. I was so upset when Jim died. I keep wondering if Conrad is leaving the show and we will start seeing the other actor in his place. I expected when she showed him his image in the mirror that when they showed us Jim again it would be the other actor. I love Conrad. Great show and it keeps getting better.

Since Jim died and took Sams body over I feared that was the end for his charector, it seemed almost a similar type of exit as the others that have left the story.
From my point of view, from the begining of the show, Jim and Melinda played the part of soul mates, but for some reason, their seemed to be something missing in their chemistry. Jim seemed somewhat insignificant with his brief parts in each episode….since his “death/step-in” experience, I realized just how important he was to the show…as each episode progressed, their chemistry seemed to emerge stronger…last night I was just so overwhelmed with emotion at their reunion and emotion of both Jim and Melinda…..I just hope and pray that someway they will find a way to bring Jim back into his entirety, and faze Sam out in every way and bring Jim back full force!
I saw what appeared to be a pregnant Jennifer Love Hewitt…reading further, she explained that it was a pregant prosthesis for a show….
    Hmm, I wonder if..

Ok, overall a good episode. Problem is with Jim’s reaction to discovering he’s in another body. Please. “Oh well, at least you look the same” is all they could muster? Does anyone else think this would be a traumatizing event? The ending was terrible.

I did a little jig of my own!
It was about time Jim came back, I did NOT have as much pleasure watching GW this year!
I miss Jim, being her support system, and btw, too much Jimmy whatishisname!
Dear writers, law number one, when it is NOT broken don’t fix it. The one who thought that story should be shoot!
