Jack White: Man enough for three bands! The White Striper-slash-Raconteur just bowed his latest project, the Dead Weather (featuring the Kills’ Alison Mossheart, Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita, and the Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence) with two chugging, raucous tracks on iTunes; the full record, Horehound, is due in June.

Isn’t Queens of the Stone Age already a “super group”? I understood supergroups to be a new group that’s formed when ex members of other really awesome but broken up bands form a new superband or supergroup.
Regarding the Queens, Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters recorded with them, and the lead singer was with Kyuss. The first EP featured Matt Cameron (Soundgarden and Pearl Jam), Van Conner (Screaming Trees) and John McBain (Monster Magnet). Since then, other former members of the Screaming Trees, the drummer from Danzig, Judas Priest’s singer, Dean Ween and even the cowbell guy from Blue Oyster Cult have been involved with the Queens of the Stone age!
I’d argue this new band is more of a side project (unless Queens and the White Stripes have split up) than a supergroup.
This is of course, purely academic. The new side project band sounds pretty cool and I’ll be there to buy that album!
Um…when does Jack White sleep?
Jack White is almost singlehandedly saving modern rock, and in the process indulging his love for doing things in threes. Jack, keep on keepin’ on!

Jack White is always amazing, I LOVE Alison Mosshart, and love The Racontuers, and Queens of the Stoneage. This is epic…I am stoked!

I’d call this a supergroup side project, not fully a supergroup. White has not officially broken up White Stripes.

Speaking of Numan, he’s been doing some hot remixes lately and I heard one on iTunes the other day by someone called Mandy Kane. He’s done a band called IAMX too. They rock. Go Numan!!!
