'I Get That a Lot' prank show: Excited to see Mario Lopez selling hot dogs?

Categories: Reality TV

Heidiklumgetthat_lI’ll admit it: I’ll watch Candid Camera, Punk’d, Scare Tactics, or basically any other prank-centric show that airs on TV. (Sorry, Howie Mandel, but Howie Do It does not make the cut, since you make zero effort to hide your appearance while pranking unsuspecting citizens. A wig and a pair of glasses does not a disguise make!) And that’s not just because my great-grandmother was gullible enough to be pranked twice on Candid Camera back in the day. There’s just nothing quite like watching someone reach a point of hysterical rage — after a waiter serves coughed-on food, or a 10-year-old spray paints a luxury car, etc. — only to slap a smile on their face as soon as they realize they’re on television.

So I was pumped to hear that CBS will air a celebrity prank show on April Fools Day this year. The problem is, after reading its description, it seems just a bit lame. I Get That a Lot sends celebrities like Heidi Klum, Ice-T, and Jessica Simpson to work in ordinary jobs while cameras watch them try to convince customers that they aren’t who they appear to be. It’s a stunt that could be funny the first time you see it, but I’m thinking the joke will get old over the course of an entire one-hour special. And honestly, am I supposed to be surprised to see Mario Lopez working at a hot dog stand? That being said, since the cute and bubbly Heidi Klum could really do no wrong in my book, I will tune in just to see her attempt to make pizza and speak English at the same time.

Will you watch I Get That a Lot? Which of the celebrities — Heidi Klum, Ice-T, Jessica Simpson, Mario Lopez, Jeff Probst, and LeAnn Rimes — would you most like to see pranking ordinary folks? And while we’re on the subject, what’s your favorite hidden-camera show of all time?

I could care less about stuck up mario Lopez. BUt I would LOVE to see Ice T pretending he isn’t himself. the ads on tv look cute and funny.
I grew up watching the original Candid camera with my parents and siblings so that is my favorite of those type of shows.

Saying you COULD care less does not make any sense. That means you could care less about something you did not like.

“I get a lot of that.” Isn’t that what LeAnn Rimes told her friends and husband while they were watching Northern Lights?

Who cares about famous people that are pranking people. That just makes the show lame

Just saw “I get that a lot”. I loved Candid Camera and hated to see it go off the air. Hopefully, “I get that a lot” can keep up the legacy of a classic show. Loved seeing Heidi, Jessica, LeeAnn and others. Cute show!

I thought this show was hilarious. I loved it! But I’m confused, was it only on for tonight because it’s April Fool’s ? Or will there be more episodes?

We watched “I Get That a Lot,” and it was very good! Heidi spoke great English. The scary ones were the man in the pizza place, and the woman with the peace pendant. Otherwise, it was as good as “Candid Camera,” and I loved that show! Ice-T was hilarious!

My all-time favorite was the Candid Camera episode where motorists were stopped at the Delaware border because “the state was closed.” When people asked why, the workmen replied, “We’re cleaning it.”

Hillarious show! I absolutley loved it! I’d love to see more episodes!

I watched the show and I thought it was very funny! I actually tuned in because friends of ours were in Nashville when they filmed the show and they were in the segment with Leann Rimes. It was just too funny to see them on national tv. I think the show will work – we need the humor more on tv rather then all these crime shows.

The Jamie Kennedy Experiment is no doubt the greatest prank show there ever was. It beats all of them
