Weak article…Why isn’t Rush Limbaugh going to like it. Ken Tucker asks the question, but only alludes the answer. If you’re going to title your piece “Why…”, you ought to say why, in the article! Besides, everybody knows Rush hates everything from liberal-infested Hollywood…
i haven’t seen it, but i might have missed what is the obvious reference to free is just another word for nothing left to loose. m
Linking the movie to Limbaugh was a bit of a free association not unlike a Rorchach test… the movie is the inkblot and the reviewer sees what he wants to see.
Sometimes, a movie is just a movie.
woops, meant 20 of the last 28 years
Phillip Evans, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think the author is projecting a little too much here. Regarding unintended consequences, I think the movie works as well or better in the Age of Obama. One of the central themes of the movie and graphic novel is that as much as people would like to believe that some major event could change the course of history and lead to world peace, there will also be some thing (i.e. Rorschach’s journal) that can undo everything. In other words, human nature will prevail (and not in a good way). It doesn’t matter if the major event is a giant squid bomb, Dr. Manhattan-nukes, or a pseudo-Messianic political figure like Obama.
I see Rush as a bloated hot-airbag, but as for Obama’s stimulus package… how is it NOT a huge leap toward socialism?
Hey many people seem to like socialist systems, so why complain or hide from the word if you think Obama is taking the right steps?
I personally think his plan is a HUGE disaster, and speaking of- good to see someone got a laugh out of this movie.
limbaugh’s gonna have a fatal heart attack in the near future. just look at him. lard must run through his veins. i just wish we could have tim russert back and be rid of limbaugh.
Rush Limbaugh has already endorsed Rorschach as the GOP candidate for 2012.
Possibly, the dumbest article I’ve ever seen on Popwatch. Is Ken taking his orders from the White House to keep up the attack on Limbaugh? It must be tough to not have Bush to blame for everything anymore. I feel sad for you, life without a bogeyman must be tough.
Watchmen is a conservative work… Scott free is the only one that got the point (i havent seen the movie, only read the novel).
And whether its limbaugh or moore, we need the blow hards to know where rationality is (usually not near either)… both of them bring jokes on themselves, but are necessary evils (and every once in a blue moon make a salient point).
Ha. Ha ha. HA HA HA HA! You fools will sit here and argue left vs. right, good vs. evil while ALL OF THE POLITICIANS laugh at you. They have you all doing exactly what they want; staying at each other’s throats like the simplistic morons you are instead of paying attention to what THEY are doing. Nice works, ya droobs.
Rush Limbaugh is a political social commentator as is Chris Mathews. Worrying about what he says is a smoke screen put up by the Obama administration. You hate Rush Limbaugh, you talk about him he loves it, his ratings rise. You can’t buy that kind of publicity. In the meantime Obama bungles along concentrating on putting forth social plans that are noteworthy but not the main problem at hand. 99 percent should go towards getting the economy going not 20 percent. A wise man once said, ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID, remember him?
Can anyone even remember now what Nixon did that was so terrible? He ended the war in Vietnam, brought home the POW’s, ended the war in the Mideast, opened relations with China, started the first nuclear weapons reduction treaty, saved Eretz Israel’s life, started the Environmental Protection Administration. Does anyone remember what he did that was bad?
Oh, now I remember. He lied. He was a politician who lied. How remarkable. He lied to protect his subordinates who were covering up a ridiculous burglary that no one to this date has any clue about its purpose. He lied so he could stay in office and keep his agenda of peace going. That was his crime. He was a peacemaker and he wanted to make a world where there was a generation of peace. And he succeeded.
That is his legacy. He was a peacemaker. He was a lying, conniving, covering up peacemaker. He was not a lying, conniving drug addict like JFK, a lying, conniving war starter like LBJ, a lying, conniving seducer like Clinton.
