Fallon is garbage. Ferguson will be handing his butt in the ratings in 3 weeks. Just like he was handing Conan’s butt before he left.
L.Hubb left the band last year. I’m gonna miss him and his chew sticks!
I think everybody needs to take into consideration that Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has only been on air for a week now. It takes time to learn and grow. As for The Roots… I don’t know, I’m not feeling it. I love them as a band and I have seen them perform quite a few times but, little 2-3 minute jams is not very fulfilling.
White Thought, you are absolutely ridiculous. You must obviously be from some red neck backwoods town of folks who cling to guns and religion if you think that the Roots are overrated. I think your issue has nothing to do with your dislike for Jimmy’s band choice, I think your issue is that the band happens to be a band made up of talented Black men. Try not to let that fact intimidate you…AND PLEASE GET OVER IT.
THE ROOTS ARE ONE OF THE MOST PROVOCATIVE AND UBER-TALENTED LIVE BANDS IN EXISTENCE, PERIOD!!!

So far I’m just not feeling anything. I usually love Jimmy Fallon, I usually love The Roots, but this show is a disaster. I can’ wait til Conan comes back, and I hope the new format doesn’t suck.
The black in black thought refers to all the colors together make black.
I used to enjoy watching jimmy on snl.. he had this punkish quality that worked for him.. Im sure the choice of the band was to give the show its own special edge. and it does. however jimmy doesn’t do well in my eyes.
The whole show seems unpolished and without a format . does anyone reherse..at all?
he seems skiddish , lacking energy and unprepared. there really isn’t a flow to the show at all. All of his little bits seem to be trying to emulate but not copy late night with Connan. I’m hoping he finds his late night legs soon As for now his routine has all the excitement of a high school play. maybe if he resurrected the masturbating bear things might pick up? lol… nah
Im sure it would be tough for anyone to do a show like that not to mention have to fill some pretty big shoes left by connan.
who’s idea was it to put jimmy Fallon in there anyway? did he want the job? Thank you for a reason to go to bed a hour earlier.
Man you guys are really hard on Fallon…I have to say I find him more interesting than Jay, Conan and Letterman… I find him very prepared… funny… fresh in ideas… and I get the feeling that his ideas are going to keep coming and coming.. I absolutely love the Roots. They totally rock on Late Night. They add so much to the show.. and I love how they were included in the 7th floor reality series.. I’m sure we’ll see more of them
