'Watchmen' tickets are hot: Have you bought yours yet?

Categories: Film, Watchmen

Watchmenmoviephoto_dlWord is trickling out that tickets to Watchmen, which opens this Friday (duh!), have been selling like crazy online and elsewhere (duh!). I, for one, have not yet bought my tickets — er, ticket (chances that the wife will want to come along to this movie: nil) — but, clearly, I should. Lest, you know, I have to wait until (gasp!) Saturday or even (heart attack!) Sunday, to see Zack Snyder’s long-awaited adaptation and 300 followup.

What about you? All set up with your seats yet? Are you among the flocks of fans who are turning the movie’s Thursday midnight screenings into sellouts? Planning to go on a quick diet before you binge on all that popcorn? What I mean to say, PopWatchers, is: Are you getting psyched?

My partner bought us tickets for Friday night at Muvico…he even got the love seat ones, which are really nice and comfy! I’m so excited!

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS ATROCIOUS FILM! Simply put, a horrible, horrible adaptation. Not worth the 20 year wait. People left the advance screening before it even ended. Alan Moore’s objections to this film are well founded. It has about as much merit as the worthless one-term occupant of the Oval Office.

Watchmen, IMAX, Saturday, 7PM, Book It!!!

830 showing friday night on imax.

  • AsFKr

Brandon and his partner are homosexuals. The Comedian would not approve.

  • Angelo

12:01am on friday? I’m probaly gonna have to wait til Saturday night. I gotta go to work at 10:00am. Plus the movie is 2 hours plus.

  • Brabs

Don’t listen to “Impeach Obama”…I saw an advanced screening last night and I can tell you that Watchmen is…AMAZING! Absolutely 100% faithful to the book (except a few parts). Super bloody and awesomely violent, sexy, bad ass, great performances, Visually breathtaking. It is a great film and you should all go see it! Bravo Zack Snyder! Bravo!

  • Brabs

p.s. The advanced screening that I was at got a standing ovation after.

  • BrandonK

We’re socialists, too, AsFKr…do you think that qualifies us as unofficial Commies? :0)

  • rockgolf

    mmmm… Peach Obama.

  • Marten

Yeah, I got advanced tickets to the midnight showing on Monday. My girlfriend and I are going to start celebrating her birthday with almost 3 hours of Rorschach!

  • Jadee

EW needs to monitor comments … or disable them. Or put them behind a membership wall tied to a an e-mail account. Yeah, I’m excited for Watchmen. I came here to read words from other fans who are excited for Watchmen, not homophobic and un American vitriol.

Don’t want to stay up ’til 3:30 for the midnight showing, so my girlfriend got us tickets for the 11:50 AM on Friday. What a great way to start the day, I can’t wait.

  • HuronBob

I agree with Jaydee… membership forum only… idiots like ImpeachObama will drag this into the gutter..
I attended the Premier…the movie is fantastic…. just thrilling… y’all will love it.

You bet I’m excited!!! Plan to see it during a (Heart attack)Sunday matinee though. There will be a group of 8 to 12 and we are planning a nice early homemade dinner afterwards to discuss the film. P.S. I know some of the guest will not wait till sun. and are going to watch it twice. I may be one of them.

I went to an advanced screening last night, and as someone who knew absolutely nothing about Watchmen (except for the hype thanks to EW and other news sources), the movie was freakin AMAZING. It has appeal to a bigger audience than just Watchmen fanboys and admirers of Zack Snyder. If you took your girl to The Dark Knight, definitely take her to this! The fight sequences are stunning, sound editing was superb, Jackie Earl Haley as Rorshach is definitely going to be one of the best acting treats of 09!

  • Vicky

I’m busy until Sunday anyway. So Sunday it is. Definitely going to a matinee though. Soooo glad this is rated R too!

This isn’t just for guys you know!! I have been a fan of Watchmen for years and am dying to go see it. Hubby is staying home. I have to be up for work at 5am both Fri and Sat so I am going with a friend to the late IMAX on Saturday nite when he gets out of work.
Confine your comments to the article. Take the political and other stuff else where. If we wanted to hear it we would go there to read it.

I hope this film fails. Heck, I hope everything fails. You know me.

  • MrOrientation

I got my ticket for the midnight showing on Thursday yesterday with some friends.
Hopefully it’ll be loud and entertaining enough that I won’t fall asleep during it, for I’ll have been up since 7:30.
    I’m excited!

  • paige

i been bought my tix weeks ago for fear of another Dark Knight IMAX fiasco– sadly, ill be going Sunday at 6pm because my wack friends all work crazy hours friday and saturday…

  • Rally

I also saw an advance screening last night, I found the film to be engaging and riveting for all 2.5 hours of it. Definetly not boring.

  • Jaclyn

Yes! Can’t wait! We were gonna go IMAX on Saturday night but waited too long for tickets. So it won’t be until Sunday for me, but that’s just fine. IMAX should be totally worth it.

  • cajun

    yeap
bought my IMAX tixs a month ago when they went on sale. I have a membership with the theatre. Told all my friends to get theres but only a few did. Now they are all bummed they have to wait until next week when the tixs are availble.

  • M

No, I want to watch this movie, but I can wait.

  • Gretchen

Josh, you’re wife wont go with you to this movie? I am going w/ my bf – it is my payback for him going to see He’s Just Not That Into You with me!!

  • Ralf
  • Obama Rocks

Went to the advanced screening, Watchmen is one kick azz visual cornucopia.
I will pay to see Watchmen again.

  • Groupie Kate Faber

For a movie that didn’t have Kobe, it still RULED.
    Go see it.
    I know I will.
    Anyone got Kobe’s number?

  • Jessica

Why on earth wouldn’t your wife want to go? What is she not a fan of? Action? Great literature? Complex moral stories? Men in tights (or blue cgi)?
I can’t for the life of me understand this media reaction of “will women go?” I don’t understand why anyone would think this wouldn’t appeal to women. Obviously women flocked to the Dark Knight, or it wouldn’t have made 1 billion. This seems like a very similar situation to me.
