It’s still wrong, these are people, not just characters in a TV show. The breakup could and should have been done in a more sensitive way and still tell the viewers what happened. They milked it for ratings at Melissa’s expense and Jason went along.
I will never watch this show again…the only regret I have is that I can’t get those 3 hours of my life back from Monday night !!
Jason kept saying how Molly is or is becoming his best friend. Is that the very reason he dropped Jillian because she wanted to marry her best friend?
Wow, I agree with another poster … this Mike Fleiss “character” really does come off as a bigger ***hole than Mesnick. What a ruthless, heartless jack**s of the highest degree.
What he says about the breakup:
He did everything else publicly, so what’s the difference?
Gee, can you give a more heartless answer? And the fact that he says “characters” and “soap opera” many times shows that he treats these people as mere pawns in his own money-making game. ABC and the Bachelor producers lost A LOT of integrity and trust with the viewing public after this shameful craptastic season.
BTW … did anyone else notice how Chris Harrison kept emphasizing last night that Molly had no interaction with Jason before the AFTR? And how Jillian basically gave this enthusiastic testimonial of how great the show is/what a great opportunity, blah blah, almost as if she was coached to say that?
I am now so completely cynical of everything and everyone on that show, I wouldn’t be able to watch again
Of course you won’t find anyone to say the show is staged bacuase of the LIFETIME CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT that would cost them $5 million if they broke. And of course Reality Steve (I love how no one at ABC will actually use his name!) isn’t going to name his source; find any good reporter that will…. Fleissy baby, come up with some better answers!! I will probably watch, but I will never believe that this wasn’t staged!
Doesn’t anybody get that this show is ABOUT humiliation? Isn’t that why we all love it so much? Watching vain, mindless, cleavage-baring women crying, cursing and tending to their running mascara? What a great show!
I never watch this show. But, the headlines made me want to read this story. Kudos to the producers and participants for having the courage to SHOW and tell the truth about fake relationships concocted for ratings and for money. People hoping to find love through a TV show need this kind of reality check.
I don’t think any of those people are good actors. Were we watching the same show? The reactions seemed so incredibly fake and thought out to me.
I believe Reality Steve now and I think this guy is just a jerk. You can tell by his cocky answers. Also Melissa was ask to be the next Bachelorette but turned it down from being so heartbroken which to me came at the hands of not only Jason but the whole ABC clan that worked on this show.

I just need to say “get a life” to the majority of people commenting on this and other Bachelor boards about Jason being a cad and ABC being shameful – THIS IS A TV SHOW! These people are CAST just like actors. Most of them are chosen because they fill a “CHARACTER” role that the producers think would be interesting. The only difference is, its “reality” – which is only to say, its not scripted (much). But they ALL make a CHOICE to go on this show and have EVERYTHING taped. There is the chance for humiliation at every turn! And most of them SHOULD be humiliated for what happens during most of the season (the drinking, the hooking up with multiple people, the tears and fighting). Jason is human…humans make mistakes…he had a right to break up with Melissa if he felt he made a mistake. And if she was dumb enought to sign her life away to this show, she has to live with the consequences of having that ALL taped and shown to us.
I think placing people in situations where they have to make lifetime decisions under such emotional duress never makes for good decisions on anyone’s part. Perhaps these people know what they are getting into and, “in reality,” perhaps they don’t. The producers do! Bottom line – I blame all the recent heartache seen on national T.V. involving this program on the producers of this show. You all stage the rules of the game. You all can pull the plug when the fire gets too hot. We (all the fans) were taken on an emotional ride that left us feeling distressed and robbed of 6 weeks of investment in a show I find now unworthy to ever watch again. I loved Jillian. You all know we loved Jillian. I think that you think she will be your saving grace – I wish the best for her – but good luck – because I won’t be watching. The Bachelor, the producers and Chris Harrison – get some integrity; you lost me on this one. It is high time we all get back to caring about PEOPLE! and NOT $$$$$$.
And the only reason they’re showing it to us is because we’re all watching! I for one watch because its hilarious to watch these people, adults who have free will and chose to go on this show, humiliate themselves season after season. If everyone on the show were normal and they always got married at the end it would be boring and no one would watch!
Even if the facts are consistent between Mike and Chris, it’s obvious Jason doesn’t know who he is and doesn’t know what love is and doesn’t know that you don’t propose to someone if you love someone else and doesn’t know that (if you have a choice) that you are a classless creep if you embarrass someone on national TV (if you have a choice to protect that person’s dignity).
And saying that Melissa’s and Molly’s “hurts” are the same? You can’t be serious. Oh, that’s right. You’re a guy.
Jillian was my favorite from episode 2 but, I’m done. I won’t watch The Bachelor/ette again. More important things to do than put up with insecure, boorish people who need to be on TV.
Good luck.
What I think is ironic is that Jason kept saying “Molly is my best friend!” I wonder where he got that concept? Jillian maybe? I mean, seriously, Jillian kept telling him he should be with his best friend (her) and Jason kept telling her that a best friend isn’t what he wants.
Bottom line, Jason has no idea who is he or what he wants. Even his family sounded tired of his past relationships. I’m glad this season is over, and I won’t be surprised when Jason shows up on the Bachelorette and tells Jillian he should have stuck with her, his bestest best friend.
This guy is simply unbelievable! He is callous and heartless. He talked about everyone even the viewers like he doesn’t care about how we think or react. It’s a show, so we should just take everything in stride. Is he for real? Ok, that does it. No more bachelors!
