I will start this post-episode blog item with an apology: I am sorry for leaving Allison Iraheta and Mishavonna Henson off this week’s American Idol Read the full post.

Adam sang Satisfaction well?!? I must have been watching something else because his version made my ears bleed. The last thing Idol needs is McScreamy(VON) and McScreechy!!
I was surprised by Allison, good job!
Megan looked liked she was dressed in a 1st Communion dress gone bad, her singing was all right.

    Mel–
There’s a difference between exploiting and genuinely grieving. Danny is doing the later. I don’t know if it is because he is a guy that he is getting such harsh treatment for talking about his wife, because there is still this expectation that guys are supposed to bottle up their feelings and show people how tough they are. If he never did talk about his wife, I suppose we’d be talking about what a douchebag he was for completely ignoring her. AI has pimped stories to the kilt every year, and this year is no different. He IS showing humility by grieveing and that is what is causing the backlash. People don’t want to here him talk about it, because they are insensitive a**holes who are to concerned about getting their own favorites in. Because quite franky, if your name is not Adam or Gokey, you’re going to need all the help you can get. I think Adam can be a little more boring and Gokey be a little less intense, but then that wouldn’t make for good drama at all.

The pimping is worse than last year. Adam Lambert = Twilight is ridiculously manipulative to tween girls. Idol is smart–they know that it is usually crazy girls and older frau that bring the most money, so they have been sending more appealing guys there–see Gokey and Lambert.
Lambert bored me. I want the drag queen, male dry humping Adam back. Tamed Adam is boring. Old queen Lambert is fabulous.
I voted for the most entertaining performance I’ve ever seen on Idol last night: Normund Gentle. I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard. I love that he is mocking the show!

hmmmmm…….does anyone find it odd tat Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert both got to perform last? I mean seriously, how coincidental is tat? So tat e judges can go “YES!! U SAVED THE NIGHT!!” Especially when they have so obviously chosen their favourites during Hollywood week, hence placing them last to do a redeeming program or wat some say ‘to pimp e contestants’.
Does Idol think e public is dumb and can be manipulated????? Give EVERYONE FAIR SHARE OF AIR TIME!!! Who wants to bet that Group 3 last spot wil go to Lil Rounds? She has been very ‘pimped’ throughout e show too. We’ll jus see wont we?

  • Maryann

Why isn’t anyone talking about Jessie?
She is a bona fide STAR. She is amazing and deserves a spot!!!!!

  • maryann

BTW, how can you hate a guy for grieving his wife? As he pointed out is has been SEVEN months, and people constantly ask him about it. They air it, and people blame him??
He’s great, he’s humble and this “hating on” needs to STOP.
    p.s. Go Norman! Go Matt!!!

  • TheresaS

I agree!!! Where is Jesse in this discussion? There were tooo many good people in this one group, so we’ll lose some of the best unless the wild card can save them!

MD – HAhahahahahaHAHHAah McScreamy & McScreechy!!! tat’s hilarious!! and soo truee…i mean, it wasnt all bad Adam Lambert’s performance…but i just HATE, HATE, HATE(HAAATE TIT *British accent*) when e judges go “OMG, u so totally nailed tat or u are holding ur own concert already” and hate it when paula goes all horny
Simon still always gives e most honest opinions. Adam was good in some parts (screaming part) and jus plain horrid in other parts

  • maryann

This new format has to go. One bad performance could have sent former idol standouts home, but they got that 2nd/3rd chance because there were 3 rounds. One performance gets you to the top 12? 4 judges? Don’t mess with the formula that works!!

  • snarkythismorn

Could barely sit through Lambert. Ugh! There wasn’t a single guy worth voting for last night. Karaoke-every single one. But there were 3 women worth voting for! Allison Iraheta, Mishavonna Henson(You nailed it again, Slezak.)(and Megan Corkrey-in that order. Although telling Megan over and over again how pretty she is, was a little off-putting. Such a pitty gerl… And ask her not to ‘dance/shimmy’ anymore.
Really beginning to hate this 3 group-audition/rounds. It feels completely unfair.

FYI – Lambert is not appealing to the “older fraus”. He’s too fakey. I doubt if the teens will fall for his costumey looks either.

  • Joe J

Was I the only one that just didn’t feel it with this group of 12? I just thought the first group was much better over all. Hell, I think Tatiana could have made it though in this group.

  • Natalie

GAH! Ha to skip through Adam Lambert. Iritating to the max, and i like his first audition! That was just awful though. Really liked Allison, Jessie and Meghan though. They were great! Just sad they can’t all go through!

  • Leila

I can’t believe all the love for Kris Allen here. The guy couldn’t be more boring… Even his cuteness is pretty average.

What happened to the grades this week?
