I will start this post-episode blog item with an apology: I am sorry for leaving Allison Iraheta and Mishavonna Henson off this week’s American Idol Power List. Granted, we hadn’t gotten to hear much of the bright-eyed young contestants during the first six weeks of Idol‘s eighth season, but after their respective performances tonight of "Alone" (which, coincidentally, tops my gallery of songs that must be banned from Idol) and "Drops of Jupiter," I’m officially a fan of both. A big fan. A fan who might need to take the next 15 minutes or so and engage in some deeply em barrassing fanboyish speed-dialing on their behalf. Because, really, Allison and Mishavonna need all the help they can get, seeing as how the judges all but put a "Reserved for Adam Lambert" sign on one of the three Silver Stools of Safety for tomorrow night’s results show, despite the raven-haired one’s TMTH treatment of the Rolling Stones’ "Satisfaction." Do Paula, Randy, and Kara truly think Adam’s the second coming of Mick Jagger, or are their annual bonuses somehow attached to them cheering hardest and loudest for the contestants who’ve already received the most inordinate amount of airtime this season? Okay, okay, so I’m a conspiracy theorist. But if Lil Rounds gets the pimp spot next week, then it proves the fact that just because I’m imagining treachery doesn’t mean it’s not actually occurring. Anyhow, time for me to get down with the get down and write my full TV Watch recap of tonight’s show. Check back for it around 6 a.m., and until then, tune in below to the two most recent episodes of Idolatry. (Or as Blake Lewis would call it: I-i-i-i-i-idoaltry.) Respeck.

I also became a big fan of Allison Iraheta and voted for her 4 times before I kept getting the busy signal too many times and then I gave up completely. But I also really like megan joy corkrey… something about her!
Ryan Seacrest cracks me up. “Where else can you find a welder; a bartender; a font designer; and a comedian . . . all on the verge of stardom? Nowhere! Only here. Thiiiisss is American Idol!” Nowhere! I mean, right here! And in New York!
Finally, something to thank the producers for! They seemed to take a cue from Canadian Idol by rotating which judge critiqued first. As much as I thought Randy was useless last year, I have to say that it’s really hard to go first, just seconds after the song finishes. The judges seemed relevant to me tonight.
I agree that Allison and Mishavonna were the best women tonight, but I still love Adam and his VanHalenesque screams.
As overdramatic as he is, Adam is the only one who sang in key, changed up the song, and performed well. He was heads and tails above the rest. Allison’s start to Alone was fine, but she screeched the chorus; Megan Corkrey sounded like she was swallowing the ends of phrases. Mishavonna was the most polished of the women. But I say give Anoop the third spot from Group 2…
As soon as I heard Adam would sing Satisfaction , I cringed. Seriously? The most covered of all Stones songs? But something about those gold chains told me he would be FABULOUS, and although it started off kind of iffy, he became the Ziggy Stardust I was hoping he’d morph into. Norman suprised me ( think: The Dan Band). Kris suprised me. The girls once again disappointed. Allison did good, but come on- nothing can touch Carrie’s Alone. Nothing. Megan? Shimmy shimmy arm shake, shimmy shimmy arm shake. And Mishovanna is my new favorite word, but it has nothing to do with the girl that sang Drops Of Jupiter.
Oh- one more thing- did Randy really compare Adam to Robert Pattinson of Twilight?
That was a bad, bad, night.
Holy cow! What was Paula on this week? She looked severely medicated. Simon had to save her a couple of times. Speaking of Paula (and how can we not!?), I was shocked to hear that Paula thought that Adam Giraud’s performance was better than his rehearsal. I thought Idol was getting rid of this practice after Paula-gate? You remember — when she critiqued a song that hadn’t even been performed yet! I guess Idol doesn’t have to worry about it’s perceived integrity. :/
I think Adam Lambert is amazing personally, he stole the show. I honestly don’t think the women represented themselves very well tonight. Except Allison Iraheta. She and Adam will take the top two spots tomorrow night. The third is iffy to me.
I legitimately don’t know if I liked Adam’s performance. haha, seriously! I can’t figure it out.
Also, I think Allison did great! Though I also think that “Alone” needs to be retired…it’s been performed a few too many times.
Adam “twilight” Lambert just became Danny Gokey’s worst nightmare.
Ilove Danny Gokey, he is so sweet. I also completley agree…Adam is giving him a run for his money.
Adam was awesome, pimping or not. Although the Twilight crap was not awesome.
Janine had some great moments, too, but the rest was terrible and her personality reminded me of Tatiana.
ummm, yeah, robert pattinson is not relevant to adam’s performance. I think Randy just wanted to score points and subconsciously make twilight fans associate adam and rob.
