I agree with you to a point. Mr. Rich (AKA “pinhead”) didn’t “prefer” Iron Man, he pronounced it “far superior.” Iron Man is a fun comic book movie. Strap yourself in, hold on and enjoy the ride. That’s great. But DK dealt with far deeper issues. Each are different and should be enjoyed for what they are. I think pinhead should stick to reporting and not editorializing. That’s his job. And for the rest of the gang who prefer Iron Man to Dark Knight. That’s fine, to each his own as it were. But Rich should REPORT not state his opinions. He wants to make opinions get a column or start a blog. MR. RICH, YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

I also think Iron Man was the better superhero movie of the two. Because when you get down to it, TDK was not as much of a superhero movie as it was a supervillain movie. A dark, depressing, ponderous, overhyped supervillain movie. IM was just what a comic book movie should be–exciting and fun to watch.

You Dark Knight lovers need to chill the f*ck out. He said he preferred Iron Man to TDK, big deal. It’s not like he said TDK was a steaming pile of dung.
I don’t understand the hypersensitivity, and knee-jerk bashing. It’s not like the TDK is an underappreciated gem that needs defending…the damn movie made over 1B d so relax already.
That being said, I did prefer Iron Man. I am a horrible person.

I’ll be Switzerland for now I think both movies are so different that it’s hard to judge one better then the other. I think Iron Man was fantastic and I totally agree about Mickey, if he’s in there I’ll see the movie more then once, I’m seeing it either way.
I do look forward to seeing what Marvel does, I have faith in them not to screw it up. They were smart to stick closely to the source material and update it in action and not theme. Anything they do is better then the awful fantastic four gob….so stupid and miscast, Jessica Alba ruins films.
I hope they reboot Dare Devil Please reboot that, such a good comic, needs a better film.

Iron Man was a lot of fun but it’s ridiculous to suggest that it’s superior to TDK. That’s like comparing Liberace to Beethoven. Iron Man is just check-your-brain-at-the-door mindless fun and TDK is an intelligent, visually stunning masterpiece. I oppose all things musical, by the way, and I’m disgusted to hear about the Spider-Man musical, even if the Spider-Man film series sucks. Someone had to say it.

How refreshing to read that someone else thought Iron Man was a better movie than Dark Knight.
I am actually not worried about Marvel surviving. One of the reasons they are doing the movies themselves is to have the creative control and make sure they are done right. Look at Punisher (what crap that was), Xmen while good, could of been better with out alot of the rewriting of Marvel history they did, and the Fantastic Four was not very good at all. Marvel will have complete control and I feel they will stick closer to the source material than the other studios who try to squeeze all the cliches into movies( Superman Returns I am look at you with the addition of the baby).
