Update: We have confirmation that there will definitely be a reunion. Definitely. Mike Patton’s rep said she should have the lineup confirmed by morning, hopefully, and would send over more info then. And Roddy Bottum’s rep says he’s for sure in. That’s the good news. The bad news: There will only be European dates, no U.S. ones.
Below is the rest of our post from last Thursday…
So yesterday, Blabbermouth.net furthered/created speculation about a Faith No More reunion — and added that, were this to be, original frizzy-haired guitarist Jim Martin would not be in the line-up. Which would kinda suck, and make the reunion all the less special. (Yes, I was just getting a little wistful. Sniff.) It’s possible this is all just a lot of blabbing on the ‘mouth’s part, mostly fabricated off their retread last month of a Billboard story saying FNM singer Mike Patton would perform solo at Coachella in April (or at least without his old band; there was something about him sharing the stage "withbeatboxer Rahzel"). But with Blink-182, No Doubt, and Limp Bizkit reunions this summer, the timing does seem ripe. We placed a couple calls to see if there’s anything to all this, and will update this post if we get any decent info. In the meantime, we’ll all have to get by with this clip, which is "Epic" indeed.
Anyone psyched about the notion of a Faith No More reunion? What if it happened without Martin?

Beyond psyched, even without Martin. Mike “Puffy” Bordin is one of my drumming heroes, and as much as I’v enjoyed his playing with Ozzy, FNM is probably the best showcase for his talents. The rest of the guys aren’t that bad, either.
I would love to see this reunion. Epic is one of those stand alone songs that gets you psyched up for good music.
Yes YEs Yes! Please let this be true. Faith No More are one of the most underated hard rock bands ever! I would be so happy if they got back together. Mike Patton is one of the best vocalists recorded music has ever seen.
Mid-life Crisis. Literally!

It’s not FNM without Chuck Mosely and Jim Martin.
as long as the original “musician” lineup is intact, i could care less if Patton is involved.
They sucked in the early 90s and I’m guessing that hasn’t changed much.
It would be cool if they were getting back together for a tour. They are one of the bands that I never got around to seeing so it would be nice to see them (although no US tour
). I would prefer to see Martin with the band. And I always felt Mosely’s “vocal stylings” really worked with the earlier material. I guess what I’m saying is that since his vocals were not that great they lent a very indie/garage feel which really worked. I’m gonna go dig up some of the old stuff!
This is the greatest news since ever! Don’t really much care if Martin is in it, but I’m totally psyched that Patton is!!!

You are f**king idiot. Go back to listening to Fall Out Boy, champ.
JACKL – u would have to be the biggest tool on the whole of the internet -u clown.. what sort or f**khead goes on a fan forum/website to actually bag that band? get a life u tosser.. GR8 TO HEAR FNM ARE BACK, HOPE IT GOES WELL!.. new album sometime?..
“”It’s not FNM without Chuck Mosely and Jim Martin”"?
You handicap. Mosely couldn’t sing for sh!t and Martin’s guitars never drove the band. Not to mention 2 of the best 3 FNM albums didn’t feature Martin at all.
Patton, Gould, Bordin, Bottum + whichever guitar player they choose is A1 with me. Doubt it’ll happen though.
Well, Chuck was a pretty fine composer, in this year will release a new album!!, and Jim Martin is a FNM’S cornerstone in early career, We Care A Lot and Introduce Yourself are awesome albums, but the core of FNM are BILLY GOULD AND MIKE BORDIN, ever.

Go back to listening the the Jonas Brothers little girl.
A piano should fall on your head for mentioning FNM in the same paragraph as LIMP Bizkit and Blink 182.
And DEAR LORD, Way to go with embedding the video for epic too …
Composition of every FNM song (other than Caffeine which was all Mike) began with with Billy and Roddy.
Theres an unreleased 2 hour video shot by MTV years ago documenting the production of Angel Dust .. take a look
they BETTER play in North America, if not they’ll be letting down a ton of fans here in the states, as well as Canada & Mexico.
I like Jim, but Trey’s guitar playing on King for a Day was unbelievable. Not that there’s any chance of getting him to tour, since he wouldn’t tour the first time. Regardless of who’s playing guitar, I’m VERY excited about possibly seeing them tour again.
Jim Martin is the guitarist in Faith No More. The other guys just participated in a revolving door scenario that ultimately ended with the breakup of the band. But, beggars can’t be choosers. If they toured in the states, I’d be there with bells on, no matter who’s playing guitar.

A FNM reunion?!?! Now todays fans of all this Alternative crap on the radio can see where it all got started. They’re my favorite band and yet I never got to see them live. Looks like i still won’t be able to see them seeing that they’re only touring Europe, jerks! Get to the states where it all started!!
If anyone knows Faith no more, jim martin wont be in the band. He refused to move forward with the band, and he has major personality isues. he would refuse to play anything made after 1994!!!!when he was booted out. But god bless this band!!!
Jim didn’t have personality issues, unless being “cool” is a personality issue. but i hope 16 years is long enough to bury the hatchet and he’ll be onstage with them (cross fingers)
I love everything faith no more and I loved all the things Jim did, but he couldn’t grow with the band and his style of playing does not suit any album they did from King for a day fool for a lifetime to Album of the year. They broke up having a much better guitarist for their sound and I know Jon Hudson is the best man for them! I am so excited about this! I saw them in 1998 at Brixton academy and it was the best concert I have been too and I hope they are coming back with new material.
@Scott K
They were only underrated in their own country – later albums always did very well in Europe which is possibly why they’re only doing dates here to begin with. But they have to do some west coast US gigs at some point, surely …
maybe Jim will join the band onstage for a few songs, that would be sweet. And while i’m wishing, let’s bring Chuck over here too
Jim Martin is unnecessary on this reunion. While Angel Dust was the most ahead of it’s time album of the 90s, the guitar work left something to be desired. King for a Day is where they shined brightest and I am unsure that Jim could even play those songs. Patton, Gould, Puffy, Roddy, and any decent guitarist who WON’T limit their catalog to pre KFD songs is about the best prospective show I’ve heard of in years… unfortunately I am going to need a plane ticket and a passport to see it. Common…. NYC boys — or at least the wasteland that is New Jersey. Something on this side of the ocean please.
I have a feeling that their is a good chance that FNM will eventually create another album. Hopefully if they do they will once again not be ignored by mainstream U.S. radio like they were for KFD, AOY.
I’ll admit Jim wasn’t the most technical guitarist in the world, but he was just so cool; sorta like a heavy metal hippie. Just him being onstage multiplied the band’s coolness by 10x! And he did shred a little bit during live shows.
