I think that it was just as proper for Jennifer to present an award as any other actor or actress that presented. She is an actress and I don’t know why people keep picking on her. I think she’s a very sweet person and I have loved her since friends. Angelina is too egotistical and I do not think she’s the most beautiful actress of the era.I think the media should get over talking about Jen and just let her live her life. After all, she did loose the man she loved to the vamp. I think she’s doing better than both of them as far as being cool.

I personally loved it. I like Hugh Jackman and he was absolutely fantastic. The only bad thing is that there wasn´t enough of him! More and definitely host next year. I liked the musical number, I really did. I could live without those kids from Highschool musical, thought. Robert Pattison is an awful actor and even worse presenter. The constant attention to Brangelina was annoying. Such Anna Hathaway is far more likeable, nicer and better than Angelina, who most of the time looked like everything belongs to her.
And the only other thing I didn´t like – Sean Penn. Mickey Rourke was awesome, and the other, if Rourke wouldn´t get it, is Frank Langella. I am a big supporter of gay marriages (I live in the country that has “partnership”) but when he thinks that only his opinion is the only right, that it´s wrong. Also screenplay to Milk over In Brugges is a bad decision.Actors presenting actors nominees was a great idea but I also think that short clips of their work would be fine.

Poor Meryl Streep. She’s like the Mariah Carey in award shows…always nominated for their technical skill and amazing talents, but they never win the big prize.

After getting my heart broken by the Grammys (Giving Coldplay song of the year but not record of the year was just plain cruel,) I actually was sincerely impressed by the Oscars. Jackman was a GREAT host, a complete breath of fresh air. Slumdog Millionaire, by far the best movie of 2008, took the top prize. All of my predictions for acting were correct, except I did believe Mickey Rourke would eventually take it instead of Sean Penn (yuck.) Dustin Lance Black’s acceptance speech was DISTURBING. And did anyone notice Slumdog screenwriter Simon Beaufoy forgetting Frieda Pinto’s name, and substituting it with ‘Latika’ instead? All in all, a wonderful show, highly enjoyable and brilliantly exectued. WAY TO GO SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE!

I now absolutely HATE sean penn. He has ROBBED two of my favorite actors of their much-deserved Oscars (the other being Bill Murray in Lost in Translation which made me cry). That being said, I realize that it’s not technically his fault but still… The Oscars were great this year. Go Hugh Jackman.

why there was NO Heath Ledger in “In Memoriam” part on golden globe or oscars?

  • Deckard

How many times did that freaking cameraman show Gomez and Morticia Pitt?-the show sucked a big one

  • M.R. in L.A.

    M.I.A.’s absence wasn’t a surprise – she has a 10 day old baby!
