Why does EW have to litter their web page with American Idol every day????
Michael Slezak really sucks. Anoop doesnt belong at the bottom of the list. He’s probably the most ‘unique’ and ‘different’ contestant there is (since comments below are asking for a ‘unique’ contestant). Thats wat Anoop is.
BIG mistake here !
You forgot Allison Iraheta-the 2006 “Telemundo idol” competition winner!!
Spanish,beautiful,16 y.o.a lot of stage experiencing !!!
Adam Lambert is way too theatrical for my liking. He should be banned for being so over the top all the time! Adam really is ewww.
I’m really hoping that Jesse does well this week. There are so many female contestants who have received early hype that I don’t think will do well at all (it’s already happened with 3 last week). I loved Alexis’s performance last week and I even voted for her, but I’m not convinced she’ll be able to continue high quality performances such as that one. As far as the guys go, I think Matt G. is overrated. His first audition in Hollywood was a total disaster with a goat vibrato as wide as the Mississippi River. And Adam Lambert is going to have to hold back a bit or he’ll be toast.
this list doesnt make sense at all! ANOOP from 1 to 16??!!!!!! slezak, what the heck is wrong with you????! sometimes you like anoop, and then you don’t. and you treat him like he’s the best by saying he’s gonna win it, and then you put him at the bottom. and you should talk about “EW backlash” for Danny. even though I dont like him, you guys at EW should take responsibility for really making him look like the bad guy. which he really isnt at the end of day – the AI producers are. wow slezak and co. – youve really hit a NEW LOWWWWW!!!!!!
nathaniel marshel is by far the best in my opinion im sorry to who ever doesnt think other way thx peace out from nathaniel’s my babe lol peace out
Not sure about this list since like someone said the editing thing is crazy so we don’t get a chance to see everyone. Give Gokey a break guys. Most of us have not had the terrible experience of losing a spouse and we don’t know how we would be able to carry on. Blame AI for hyping the story, not him.
Love your writing Slezak!
Alexis at #2? Okay, THAT’S JUST WRONG!
Anoop to 16? What? Especially down from 1?
I’m sorry, but even if you didn’t like his performance last week (which I loved) that drop is unfair.
Anoop has not only a talented voice and charming personality, but he has a huge fan base that The Producers can’t ignore. I actually just ordered my Yes We Anoop shirt today, and I will proudly wear it when he makes it through the WC round!
Anoop has got big things coming! Once he secures that wildcard spot, he’ll be unstoppable! The only problem is we are going to have to wait a few more weeks to hear his gorgeous voice again. His single on itunes has the most comments behind Gokey… it’s gonna be Anoop’s year!
YES it definitely is ANOOOOOOOOOP’s year! He’s not your typical ‘white boy’ or ‘African-American’ with the big voice. He’s BROWN! And I know a lot of people won’t like that because who thought a BROWN guy could sing (aren’t brown people supposed to be studying engineering/medicine/law??? as the VERY ANNOYING stereotypes say!). WELL GUESS WHAT BUDDIES…Anoop IS BROWN, HE CAN SING, and HE WILL WIN! He’s the unique, different, breath of fresh air!!!!!!!! And you can’t say oh “anoop got more airtime than ricky braddy, that’s why ricky deserves it more”… uhhhhhhh clearly AI is tapping into the new “multiculturalism” that’s touching Hollywood (Slumdog Millionaire anyone?!), and couldn’t help but show Anoop because HE’s the UNDERDOG – different, most unlikely contestant to win, and he brings a multicultural (whole new viewer-base) aspect to the show. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SHOW AND AMERICA NEEDS!!!!!!!!
Have you read about Gokey’s “church”?
This blog has a lot about it.

Anoop: “unstoppable”?????? He’s not thaaat good, he’s okay but wouldn’t last a day if it was any of the past seasons!! Watch out because after Adam Lambert sings, you’re going to be like “Anoop who”;”Danny who”??? Watch!!
Norman Gentle for the win.
