'Idolatry': Where do you stand on Danny Gokey?

May I just be honest? I am a viewer outside America, it has been very painful to see that Danny keeps advancing on to the finals while many of us cannot even vote!!! I can feel my anger writing this. I know Danny fans will agrue all the way about his mature voice or for whatever reasons like his good image, blah blah, but PLEASE, he don’t have the substance and star quality to be the winner – even my friends and most people I know who are above 60, really feel that he should not be the winner. They have been complaining why he is always safe!! We’re not haters of Danny and have nothing against him, he may be a very nice person in real life. But voters should do some justice by stop keeping him in the competition which is NOT looking for Mr. Good or Mr. Right. I am also a Christian myself who listens to praise and worship songs, but I can HONESTLY say I don’t even think Danny is good after listening to ALL his youtube videos. Let true talent prevails not sympathy votes!

This comment is in response to an earlier post by Brandon “U hate chrisitianity and what it stands for and u guys love Adam so much that Danny is a threat to your hero”. This could not be further from the truth. Such distaste for Danny has nothing to do with disliking Christianity, but a dislike of using “tactics” to position oneself, by reaching out to other “Christians”…to save him in a competition he is way over matched by three other contestants that are more talented, consistent, and interesting than him throughout the entire competition. The dead wife tactic whether by he or the producers is just more of this pitiful attempt for bleeding hearts to save mediocracy. Kris has been emulated as having a good Christian heart, and I don’t repeatedly see comments how he uses this to keep him where he is in the competition. His talent stands alone, as does Allison and Adam. What you should do is pray true greatness wins in the end, or AI is doomed to become BLAND LAND.

First of all Why do I see the word Christian whether it is used in a positive or negative way always popping up in comments blogs with Danny Gokey,I know he goes to church and is songs in the chior..but so did Fantasia,so did Melinda doolittle,and so did LIL but you never really had to hear about how they were chritistans,so I wonder why all the negative comments about Danny being a Christian,and how all the fellow Christians are out to save him from terrible Gay adam winning..please…grow up..I get really offended when People can’t see past labels and boxes..
Now that that is taken care of,I dont really care for Gokey or his singing. I mean sure he can sing,and sure he had one huge bad night tuesday,but something has bothered me about him since the beginning,maybe it’s the 38 pairs of designer glasses he wears,maybe its his smug facial expressions,true he could be the most friendly person on earth,he just comes across wrong on tv.He is not better than Adam or allison shame she left

America, please don’t do it? Obama has restored your international credentials after Dubya, so don’t go backwards by voting Gokey into the top 2, certainly not AI’09. The guy is an overated smug jerk. Vote Adam #1, Kris #2. The world awaits your verdict!
