Pilot Season: Which actors need shows now?

Frielwyle_lBuried deep within a Hollywood Reporter piece announcing the casting of Men in Trees‘ James Tupper in the NBC hospital dramedy pilot Mercy was an interesting tidbit about the most sought-after actors this pilot season. According to the trade, ER vet Noah Wyle, far left (who returns to the show Feb. 19, and who, PopWatch has previously noted, is still hot), and Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel have received about six offers each. Others presented with multiple scripts include Dirty Sexy Money‘s Peter Krause and My So-Called Life‘s Claire Danes, who is reportedly interested in returning to television.

Who do you want to see land a pilot — stat?

I see your Peter Krause, and I raise you a James Spader.

Dominic Monaghan! Seeing him on Chuck a few weeks ago made me start missing him on Lost again. Get this guy on another show!

  • Karrah

Lauren Graham and/or Alexis Bledel. I want the Gilmores back on TV, even if they aren’t together.

  • Woody7

    Michael Vartan and Alex O’Laughlin

    Jasmine Guy

Though he’s only guest-starred on several shows, can someone please give Jeffrey Dean Morgan a series regular spot?!

  • marc

Jeffrey dean Morgan with a leading role that showcases his humor and smile, maybe ABC’s “Brothers & Detectives”. I would have recommended him for “Inside The Box” but they cast Martin Henderson

  • marc

Chi McBride in another role that showcases his amazing comic timing like Pushing Daisies did.

lee pace! i miss seeing him every week! oh, and scott porter!

  • Sean

LEE PACE- he did understated comedy and sexy so well….. in fact ANYONE from Pushing Daisies the most criminally underated show ever!!

I vote for Ally Walker. Seeing her in guest star roles just isn’t enough. She needs, nay, deserves, a starring vehicle again.

  • Yvonne

Alex O’Loughlin. I miss Moonlight, and he should have a new show.

I always vote for Josh Charles on stuff like this. I’d love to see him on something Greg Berlanti-ish (*cough* Brothers and Sisters), which would balance his apparent need to be complicated with my need to see him not be a crooked cop/child assaulter/whatever. But really, I’d love to see him in anything.

Also, Josh Charles. Even as a baddie I can’t help loving him. Michael Rosenbaum, too. He showed such massive talent in the first two seasons of Crapville.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Praying Shonda’ll put him to work in her new show!)
Rick Worthy, Michael Biehn, Dale Midkiff, and Andrew Kavovit (then all seven will be back on the screen.)
Shoshannah Stern and Sprague Grayden (The were both great on Jericho and SG’s turn on Sons of Anarchy was amazing)
Michael Ironside (Hopefully in the new V, I mean, seriously, I can’t imagine that show without him.) I could probably come up with more, but lunch hour almost up.

Chi McBride, Lee Pace, Bradley Whitford and Joshua Malina would be welcome, as well as anyone from the unbelievable yet unknown “Brotherhood” on Showtime.
