'The Bachelor' episode 7: What just happened??

Filed under: Television and tagged:

Okay, Bachelor fans, I may be the only one out there who was surprised by this week’s elimination (no spoilers here, I promise), but the fact remains, I did not see that one coming. Not that I’m upset — after all, this is setting up to be a Thunderdome-sized fight to the (emotional) death. Before you click over to my detailed Bachelor TV Watch recap and Chris Harrison’s episode 7 blog, tell me what you thought of tonight’s ”exotic date” episode. Can you believe ABC spent the money to send Jason and the ”ladies” to New Zealand? Is bungee-jumping an appropriate date activity? And are you a) excited, b) repulsed or c) both at the prospect of DeAnna’s return next week? Speaking of excited and repulsed, be sure to click on the video below to watch episode 7 of the world’s only toy-based Bachelor parody series, The Doll Bachelor. This week: Fantasy Suite dates!

Totally shocked. But my theory is that it is much worse to be the last to go (as Jason well knows) and he wanted to spare her that pain by sending her home tonight.

  • hate myself for watching

I was totally shocked at the outcome. I thought for sure that Molly was a goner. They already showed a brunette being proposed to during the first episode, so they have totally blown all the suspense. I’m excited and repulsed by DeAnna’s return. I liked her fine as the Bachelorette. However, I’m sure “the mistake” that she claims to have made had nothing to do with not picking Jason. I think that’s all a bunch of edited drama.

Jason is an idiot. He just sent his soulmate packing because he is so blinded by the *AMAZING* qualities of a much younger woman.

Jillian is an amazing woman, and Jason is an idiot!
Too bad Jason is not looking for an equal but someone he can “take care of.”
    Onward and upward, Jillian!!!

Okay. ABC has millions on the line and I dont think their editors would be so dumb as to slip off who the final lucky lady is. The preview shows a brunette, for sure, but what I read was the finale was really, really, dramatic, and leads to an even more dramatic reunion show, so here’s what I suspect happens: Jason sees DeAnna, has doubts, Molly and Melissa get pissed (more entertainment to come for the reunion), ultimately Jason picks Molly, but Molly rejects him, therefore Jason picks Melissa de facto. I heard of a marriage broadcast so to anyone who contests the above, feel free to throw darts my way..

What a huge disappointment….yeah all the suspense is gone now. Plus that guy who had the theory is likely right, sad but true. Oh well maybe they will pick her as the next bachelorette….what would be nice. Umm also did anyone see that crazy “it was so emotional we decided to make it intimate as possible” after the rose….what exactly is going to happen??

  • Otonan

Jilian comes off as a wonderful woman, but she talks an awful amount.. I get what Jason means by struggling to keep pace with her. I wish her the best of course.

In my own little world, DeAnna comes back and they ride off into the sunset together. I mean, C’MON!…when Molly asked his fave place and he said Greece!?? They are so meant to be together! (like I said, my own dream world:::::sigh:::: ;0).) So I’m excited that she’s coming back. But even I know, in all reality, she’s just coming back to give him advice. This has been my least favorite season of the Bachelor. Even though I thought after episode 1 that he’d end up with Melissa, there hasn’t been one girl that I’ve been excited about and pulled for the whole time.

  • Otonan

I agree. These ladies are smart cookies this season. If you read their interviews they clearly have their head on straight, as opposed to … over their heels for some guy they just met. Can’t wait for the reunion!

  • Team Jillian!

Ok the hype of this show from week to week is getting out of control…how many rose ceremonies can be “the MOST dramatic yet”. ABC is beating this to death. I hope Jill is the Bachelorette because she is a catch. And really, the final 3 of his are not wackos…I just don’t see him working with the other 2. Melissa seems too immature and Molly doesn’t seem to have enough of a spark for him. Eh, hope he follows his heart…this show is like 1/16 of couples lasting anyway, so it won’t even matter!
De?! Mel?! Mol? I ALMOST don’t care anymore….but I will tune in of course. Ugh…

I was completely shocked and disappointed in this. How do you send someone like Jillian home? She was the only one that my sister and I consistently adored, and she seemed so honest and strong. Too strong for Jason? Was he that intimidated by a woman who is capable of standing on her own two feet without wobbling into tears all the time? Jillian for the next Bachelorette. She’s the only one I would watch.

Tonight is officially the night I went from thinking Jason is a boring but decent guy to HATING him. It’s one thing if he just didn’t feel a connection to Jillian, but he said he did. His reasoning for rejecting Jill — that he wanted to be more than “just” best friends with his wife — is idiotic. SHE’s got it right — a great relationship is one where you are not only physically attracted to someone, but share common beliefs and goals, like one another’s company and can laugh and talk to each other. HELLO! That’s what true love is. Instead, Jason seems to think it’s all physical attraction — Melissa, jumping in is arms in her booty shorts, or Molly’s “great” kisses and green eyes. Picking these two 20-something girls is a mistake. What a clod this guy has turned out to be. I’ve only watched this because I related to Jill and Stephanie…Jason is as dumb as any other guy.

i at first really liked jillian but she is very hyper and talks way too much. melissa is cute but not too bright – remember when she sais her parents didn’t want to appear on the show because of the “publicness” of it – um, is that a word? and molly is cute and fun but does she really want to be a stepmom at 24 and listen to jason say the word “amazing” 24/7. i don’t think any are for him…and quite frankly, i find painfully dull.
