'The Golden Girls' heads to Hallmark: Check out the schedule!

Goldengirls_lThe switch to digital isn’t the biggest change in the TV landscape — it’s The Golden Girls‘ move from Lifetime to Hallmark. We’re breathing easier now that we’ve seen Hallmark’s schedule: It’ll fete the Girls‘ arrival with an 18-hour marathon, starting March 1 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Then, the show will air weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and midnight to 2 a.m. (so we can still fall asleep to it, whew!). It’ll be on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Hmmm. I would’ve moved those weekend start times back two or three hours. How will the new schedule work for you? (Editor’s note: We haven’t seen such enthusiasm from Mandikins since her last ¬°GaleHarold! post! –Annie)

No!!! I am a college student and getting ready for class each morning without the Golden Girls is going to be so sad… Bring back the 9-10 hour!

As long as I can still fall asleep to Golden Girls I’m fine with the change. I did like watching Frasier then GG but oh well. I’ll take what I can get.

Yeah- I can still get ready for work with the girls and now I can go to sleep with the girls.. Probally seen every ep 10 times at least and still find some new joke, facial expression or mannerism to laught. Best sitcom of all time. And surprise I am a straight male.

I’m bummed because my cable provider doesn’t carry the Hallmark channel. I have all the seasons on DVD but sometimes you can’t beat watching them in scattered order!

Very proud to say this is my all-time favorite show just ahead of Seinfeld and Sex and the City. So glad it’s moving to another channel, I’ve noticed Lifetime hardly shows it anymore.

Y is this newsworthy?. Dont ppl who love GG have the show on dvd? Plus hallmark isnt on basic cable.
EW, how come u dont report on BET showing CW’s “The Game” nor WEtv showing UPN’s “Girlfriends” ?

Great news! I love this show. I’ve seen every episode dozens of times and have all the DVDs but there’s a strange comfort in watching it on TV as it’s being broadcast. Thank you Hallmark!! Lifetime’s loss is your gain (and ours!)

So bummed about this, since I can’t afford the cable package with the Hallmark Channel. I own the DVDs, but it sure isn’t the same as watching them randomly on air.

gold girls are funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im wathing it now

  • rosie

The Golden Girls are a comfort show, we need it!

You guys did the same thing with “I Love Lucy”. I am down right pissed about “GG” moving. I too found comfort in watching the Girls. Basic cable works better for me these days and I won’t be suckered into upgrading. Besides, I’m loving what the history channel and basic TV has to offer.
