Conan clip du jour: Triumph assesses 'Star Wars' fans

Conan O’Brien’s last night in NYC is this Friday, so we’ll be rolling out our favorite clips from Late Night all week. First up, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog interviews nerds waiting in line for Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Among the choice specimen: a cloaked man who can crap his pants and no one will notice, an actual girl among a sea of all kinds of guys who have no idea how to please her ("pretty much!"), a future nerd six weeks away from seeing female genitalia for the last time, and Darth Vader, possible son of Triumph. I still think my favorite line is the simple "Look at theeees one!" as Triumph approaches the dude in the Yankees jacket. It kind of sums up the entire experience. "Pretty much."

Let us know your favorite Late Night sketches or celeb interviews, below!

Conan’s trip to Ireland, The Robot on the Toilet, the M@sterbating Bear… Ah, my college years…

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is probably the worst, stupid and rudest of all the bad bits that Conan has ever shown. I really like Conan, but I hope that he fires most of his writers and hires some more mature and FUNNIER ones in L.A. The Tonight Show audience is way different than the one he’s had before. I wish Conan luck, but will switch to Letterman in a heartbeat if I see Triumph once during the new show.

Oh Yeah! I stand corrected. The M@sterbating Bear is worse, (I had blocked the painful memory.) I guess Triumph is 2nd worst.

I remember one time Conan went on a trip to go shooting with Hunter S. Thompson. I was a teenager back then and that was how I discovered who Hunter S. Thompson was.

well i haven’t been as loyal a Conan- watcher as others have, but find him funny nonetheless (however, i am finding craig fergusson to be quite funny in his own right, making it a difficult time slot to choose btwn). So I was on another blog today and they were posting some of their top Conan moments of all time and this was the first I watched:

It’s with Norm MacDonald and Courtney Thorne-Smith. It’s not so much for anything Conana says or does, but rather the awkward dynamic of the three of them together. I laughed throughout the clip and then at the end hysterically (as you’ll see Conan do).

Nice, Conan replayed the Hunter S. Thompson segment that I referenced before. Hilarious.

    Dear Conan:
    Please bring Triumph with you.
    Thanks, Dinosaur
