Wait, there’s a Chun-Li movie? Like, Chun-Li from Street Fighter? Considering how much Street Fighter II I played on Sega Genesis — so much, you guys — I kinda expected someone from Capcom to call me. Personally. And thank me first for my thousands of hours of dedication, and then apologize for not making a Sagat movie first, even though Sagat is obviously the best character to play as, and then we could talk about why Blanka and E. Honda are basically the same, and someone could explain to me why anyone would ever play as Balrog, and wow, do I still have some strong feelings about SFII. Anyway, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li opens Feb. 27.
Smallville‘s Kristin Kreuk (pictured) stars as our lightning-kicking heroine, and the film is, roughly, the story of how she came to battle M. Bison (Neal McDonough) and his evil minions. Balrog (Michael Clark Duncan, which…amazing) and Vega (Black Eyed Pea Taboo) are both in it, but, gasp, no Ryu and no Ken. (No Dhalsim and no Sagat, either, so I’m going to have to hope yoga fire and tiger up-per-cut are in the sequel.) The full trailer is aqui, and while it looks to be your pretty basic martial arts action movie, it has gotten me thinking about other secondary videogame characters I’d like to see in full-length features. Toad, Yoshi, it’s time to call your agents.
What other videogame characters have been overlooked by Hollywood?
Balrog was impossible to beat if you know how to use him properly- e.honday was the “in between” blanka & chun-li- therefore i used all 3…
OMG Chun-Li was my favorite character to play with her lightening fast kicks! No Ken and Ryu though…hmmm

I’m surprised no movie’s been made for Metal Gear Solid. The game for the PSone played like a movie.
As for secondary characters who deserve a movie, how about Gen-an or Earthquake from Samurai Shodown?
Also, sadly overlooked is the true story of Clyde, the often overlooked orange ghost from Pacman. I’d love to know more about his illicit affair with Ms. Pacman and how he and pacman overcame their prescription pain pill addiction (you thought those were pellets? That’s what they wanted you to believe)
i’m very disappointed with the street fighter movie coming out. the movie poster looks like a horrible last minute photoshop project. hopefully we’ll get more of chun-li’s back story than her just fighting evil doers.
Now that I think about it, isn’t this technically a remake? or is it considered a sequel? There was already a Street Fighter movie, with Jean Claude Van Damme as Guile and Raul Julia (in his last role) as M. Bison. Didn’t Ken and Ryu make it into that one?

I can’t wait to see this movie!!!!! I always thought there should be a movie based on Chun Li. I’m so impressed that Kristin Kreuk is plaing Chun Li. can’t wait!!
I like the newer installments to the street fighter anime franchise thos movies rock!!! I am curious though to see if this movie will be a sucess. I am ready to get plesently surprised.

The biggest difference between E. Honda and Blanka was that when I would use Chun Li, E. Honda was very easy to beat (I used to pogo stick him to death), and Blanka was very hard (how is it that when the game’s AI uses Blanka, he can do that flying roll move while walking backward? That’s so not fair!)

I would like to see a GOOD Tekken or Soul caliber movie. I liked the first Mortal Kombat.
i am realy really mad ok first of all street fighter is based on ryu and ken some people are just stupid to not have them should be a crime have they not watched street fighter movies b4 and hmm idk if i saw gile those threee are the making of that game they shouldnt have put people from the newer street fighters in and wtf chun li no one likes chun li dude haha no one does she was the least looked at character i mean sereously i am apouled right now
um, Ryu,Ken,Guile,E.Honda,Blanka…i mean seriously, im a total old school gammer and i have all the ones for super nintendo which were the best ones ever made by the way. Dont get me wrong capcom vs. Marvel was awesome, but not including marval characters the super nintendo versions were the best. They really should have stuck with those characters…..Dhalism,and some others, they should be in this movie
