Has there been a Bizkit-shaped hole in your life for much of the aughts, Popwatchers? Rejoice, then, that the Limpness has been, um, resurrected. Granted, frontman Fred Durst has kept fairly busy with gigs acting (House M.D., the 2005 miniseries Revelations) and directing (last year’s family film The Longshots). But today we learned that he is reuniting with the entire original LB lineup of Sam Rivers, John Otto, DJ Lethal, and Wes Borland — though if you’re Stateside, you may have to wait a while to see them live: The bandstarts off this spring on the overseas festival circuit with headlineshows in Europe before starting on a new album. Why reunite now? Said Borland and Durst in a ringing endorsement of a joint statement:
"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."
Cuz, you know, they used to do it all for the nookie. Remember those days?
Okay, PopWatchers, we know you went kee-razy over the news of Blink 182’s recently announced reunion. But does the announcement of Limp Bizkit’s return give you an equal amountof warm fuzzies? Or does it feel more like a creeping dread??

They haven’t been on hiatus since 2000 – they put out a record in 2003 – Results May Vary (without Borland) and 2005’s The Unquestionable Truth with Borland, but it just TANKED HARD.
I should also state I’m not actually a fan or anything, but worked at a record store when those came out, so I knew the ‘2000′ date to be incorrect.
If I was still 16 I’d be so happy. Thankfully I am not.
I would be nice if PopWatch could get their facts straight.

Other posters are correct. If by “on hiatus” you mean “stopped putting out music people bought,” then yes… LB has not mattered at all since 2000. But they have put out 2 albums since then.
I put this a couple notches below the reunions of Candlebox, Whitesnake, and Presidents Of The United States Of America in terms of how little people will care.

There is only one reason they sold so many albums in the first place: The majority of the worlds population consists of blind sheeple that will lap up any new trend the media drops in their lap like so much mothers milk. You like my RHCP reference there? Another overrated band that was given too much room to grow as “Artists”. Pop music hasn’t meant a thing since the sixties, and even then it was pretty suspect.

It’s funny how all of these bands seem to gain so credibility once time passes. Limp Bizkit had a few songs that were good though, I’m not going to lie. But I wouldn’t be interested in a new CD, so I don’t know why them getting back together would fix the current state of heavy music, which is admittedly deplorable. I don’t mind the current state of alternative rock, some good stuff out there, but pure normal rock and heavy metal is like nonexistent in pop culture in a form that I enjoy.

Good that they all are back together. But what they really need is to come out with another good album. Significant Other was there last good album and that was 10 years ago. After that album they just went downhill. If the reunion is actually going to mean something.. they need to come out with another good album.
