I had difficulty concentrating during the ”holding room of doom” portion of last night’s American Idol episode. Maybe it was the blinding glare coming off Paula Abdul’s torso-sized metallic necklace, which was so cumbersome the ”Straight Up” singer seemed to be struggling to keep her head up. Or perhaps it was Kara’s lace-and-fringe blouse, which kind of resembled a crow caught in a giant spider web. Then again, it could’ve been The Dawg, who proved there is a look more frightful than the painted-on-tuxedo t-shirt: Behold the appliquéd-necklaces V-neck! Who looked most absurd? in these tough economic times, we must try to be sensitive and understand that the wardrobe department for AI, due to budgetary constraints, has now been relegated to shopping in the bargain bin over at Forever 21.
Oh dear. This is such a difficult vote. All were ridiculous. As much as I would love to give my vote to Randy’s chains, I have to go with Paula’s Tin Man necklace. She could barely hold her head up wearing that monstrosity – and I think on occasion failed at that.
Anyone know whether Paula’s necklace is part of her new jewelry collection she is selling on QVC? If so, I’ve got to tune in to see how much of a train wreck that collection is!

Kara is hot and a welcome addition to the show. Paula should be phased out of the show and sent back to rehab.
Hmm, I kinda liked Paula’s outfit — it was a pretty green and the necklace made a statement (though I don’t know quite what it was saying). Kara just looked…wrong, and Randy was only a little weird. My vote goes to Kara.
Honestly, Kara’s outfit bothered me the entire episode. I just thought it was so inappropriate for a woman like her. As for Paula, I think that she’s known for wearing outfits that people deem awful. It’s become who she is now. And Randy, well.. who cares? He’s a man and men usually don’t give a damn of what they are wearing, so why should we?

I still don’t get Kara in the group….somebody tell me why she is valuable to the judging group….unless Paula is indeed leaving. I just don’t get Kara.
So, this crazy, vaguely Eurotrash man wore Randy’s airbrush bejeweled v-neck t-shirt to my Christmas party one year, thus I was immune to the shock of seeing the dawg rocking it. And Paula was just being Paual. She’s worn worse. Do I have to bring up the latex fingerless gloves? That leaves Judge #4 and her Wet Seal wannabe wear. She’s too damn old to be shopping in the Junior’s section. And she’s just generally useless. Therefore, she wins. Yay?

I’ve been watching AI on TiVo fast mode this Season so I missed paying attention to the judges. Slezak was so observant and the picture of the judges made me laugh big time. It doesn’t matter how rich you are, you can’t buy “good taste”.
